You need a wider lens or a bigger tree! Hat porn, yessssss!

Thanks Red.

Si; I've been eyeing that color for a while. I think one of Rodolfo's Gannons got me obsessing about it.The ribbon is "Champagne.".

Combined effort. Love the natural felt and ribbon you and Michael have chosen. I too am in the que for a natural/gill.

Wow Eric, I had no idea your Gannon family was so large!
Thanks Roger. Trying of late to stay out of the fray.

My newest Gannon, beaver felt in Natural. This one is even better than the last, which was purchased about a year ago. Mr. Gannon's finishing work is superb, and as usual, he was very attentive to the details. This is only the second sharksgill he has done for a customer, with Eric's Executive clone being the first. I think he did a fantastic job. This is a great hat. The fit is spot on, as usual, and he captured the look I had in my head when I went into this one. I'm continually impressed by his work, and very, very happy with this hat.

Just an RCH over 5 5/8" open crown, 2 5/8" brim. The color is Natural, the ribbon is Champagne, which to me is a little chameleon-like depending on it's surroundings. I was sort of modeling Bob's George Eakle for this one.

I opted for one of these type of sweatbands he is now offering. Not sure what you call the finish, it doesn't have the "shiny" finish on it. It is, however, very soft and comfortable.

The new brown liners look pretty classy, too.

WOW! Natural beaver felt is gorgeous. That is quite a stunning combination (natural and champagne). Congrats Jim and Michael.

The gill ribbon work is excellent. I like that the gills have a volume and are a subtly showy. The location of the gill placement is grand as they show from front and side. When you look at a gill ribbon from the front it should give hints as to what follows and when the eye tips to see more of the profile the complete gills appear. Matching wind cord looks classy.

Wear the hat with pride - dynamite. Eric -

Thank you, gentlemen. As usual all credit goes to Mr. Gannon, a true artist. He translated very well what was in my head to real life. I am very pleased.

Ant, when you first used the word "colorway" in a post, I had to look it up, as I had never heard the term before. So thanks for teaching me something.

Eric, excellent observations concerning the sharksgill. It does draw the eye. The Champagne ribbon is very interesting. As I posted, it is somewhat chameleon-like, and shimmers differently depending on its surroundings. In person, it mostly seems to have a slight greenish tint under neutral conditions. Not overpowering, but also not exactly the vibe I got from photographs (and I have never seen green Champagne). Not a complaint, but an observance, as the results, and my enthusiasm, speak to my satisfaction. As does the fact that, the last time I wore the same hat two days in a row was on a road trip to Alaska when it was out of necessity. I may wear it tomorrow, as well.

Mr. Gannon has my fit down to a science (or I am a perfect fit with that 52 block of his). My customs (Gannon, Peters Bros, and Gus Miller) are some of my most comfortable hats. This draws me to wear them often. My Gannons are the most comfortable of the lot. They are a pleasure to wear.

Jim; Much ado about the ribbons - The vintage ribbons have a iridecense and glow that has much to do about the diffused light off the material. I often wonder why it has not been duplicated in environmentally friendly modern ways. I have handled the modern hats and the ribbons have seemed visually"dead." Current hatters search for the vintage ribbons. I applaude that search and wish for them good luck in their hunts. I know Michael's "champagne" stock does not come in all sizes.

Not only excellent fitting hats, but tenacious when it comes to handling weather. My beaver Gannons have been reliable in all weather from rain downpours, snow and in-betweens.

I do really like the sweatband and liner. Sharp!

On with the show....Eric -
