Like most people here on the Lounge, I love high quality movies. I love realism and historical accuracy, great acting and a well written script. I love Bogart's best, and Jimmy Stewart's as well, and most of the classics. But tonight I once again watched a deeply flawed movie, and loved it all over again.

I enjoyed, for the first time in a long time, Legends of the Fall. I can't justify it other than I love the undercurrents, the mood, the music, the mountain scenery, the overall flavor of it. I enjoy Brad Pitt's character, the conflicts between the dad and his sons, and I'm in love with Julia Ormond. I love the way it ends, so satisfying to me, being the eccentric I am.

Do any of you have a guilty pleasure of a movie you may be embarrassed to admit?

Well, I love the romantic movie The Bridges of Madison County starring Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood. I read the book the film is based on and both it, and the film, are a guilty pleasure for me.

The central love story is a bit sentimental but I love the characters (loneliness, passions, responsibilities), the Midwest locations and the time frame (1965). It is a film that I can only watch by myself and by the end of the film, when Eastwood drives off into the pouring rain, I always get a little damp around the old blinkers too!
