Good to see it made it across the pond allright. Looks good on you, Mike. Any idea yet what you're going to do with what's left of the onionskin covering?
I have some very fine and sharp scissors waiting until my hands are a little more steady (lack of sleep...) to carefully trim it back to reveal the liner. I think by getting the larger shards out of the way, I will assess the remaining seam. Do the least harm first. I might ask Mike Miller about what he would do for it.

I could go for a head of hair like that. Very shiny stuff. And stays put. I found a hat on Etsy shipping from Sweden that looked like the same sort of fur and they said it was otter. I'm still looking for something more definitive.

Super addition to the stable Red. And speaking of addtions, are you going to be adding a hat room onto the house soon?

Michael
I would have to talk to she who is the CFO. Doubtful.

So, Finally got my Homero Ortega Panama today.

You be the judge.

Very nice extremely close weave.

It's much better than the pics.

That is a great hat! The ribbon really makes it something special. That ribbon is so much more interesting than the typical black. The proportions of the hat also look good.

I'd be tempted to order one, but I've had such poor luck with hats sized XL fitting my 7 5/8 melon.

I'm envious.

Thanks !!! @FedOregon got it for me.

In this case XL will be a closer 7 5/8, I wear 7 1/2 on the loose side and this one fits 1/2 size big.

Anyway a nice tight weave on this one.

Interesting looking beasts. I have been sort of coming around to the idea it might be calf or some such animal. It's more hair in nature than fur as there is no under layer of fine fur/wool. More like all guard hair on a fur bearer. Unfortunately there are no longer any furriers around the local area whose brains I could pick.

Sorry I missed this one when first posted. Stellar Rodolfo. Love the blue ribbon with the highlight, was that a special order? Sure love this one, want and covet. Russian double Eagle pin?
Yes Michael, special order, and yes the Double Headed Imperial Eagle, as in the Roman Orthodox Empire Coat of Arms close to Mother Russia Coat of Arms Double Imperial Eagle as used today.

A Hard To Find Hat, with very Hard to Find Pin !!

The $50 Mallory Dallas. Been working on this thing for a few days. Saying it was dirty doesn't quite describe it. The lining was about as dirty as any I've encountered, about the same color as the sweat bow. The dates on it couldn't be seen. I cleaned it as well as i could w/o a complete removal. The loop on the wind trolley button was rotten and just disintegrated. Still gotta fix that. The felt is incredible and the sweat is in good shape. Even has my initials, though not in the correct order.

Hello, I haven't got time to post about this one.

Gannon in Powder Blue with 2" Charcoal Ribbon, Charcoal Wind Trolley.

This felt is extra soft and super light.

Everything Screams Vintage in this hat.

Can't explain what's about this Gannon Hats that make them so unique.
