this has become my absolute favorite thread and I hope you guys keep adding to it
and a lot of the ads from the past have disappeared into the internet abyss ... hopefully they can be returned home

This is from the Lincoln Star in Nebraska, Feb. 27, 1955. I wonder how many perfectly good hats they ruined by tapering the crowns and cutting the brims?

I came across this ad in a 1919 (long defunct) newspaper yesterday while doing research on an unrelated matter. I think it's an interesting insight into the flavor of hat wear at that time.
