The Return of the Beistle Company

I know I'm a little late with this, but still felt it was worth sharing. My store starts preparing for Halloween in July, so naturally, I start looking at the decorations even though I'm never home to decorate or enjoy the holiday. My store gets the same junky decorations every year and they just don't seem to instill the Halloween spirit (at least for me).

If I recall correctly, my grandmother used to decorate for holidays with these paper cutouts that she would hang in the windows and around the living room. I always really liked them but never could find out where they came from.

In my internet travels, I've come across what I believe to be the company that used to make those decorations: The Beistle Company. It seems that they have decided to re-release their "vintage" holiday decorations. I was really happy about this when I discovered it because it would also appear that while they only have Halloween decorations available now, they will be expanding their lines to include more holidays.

If anyone is interested, the link is https://www.vintagebeistle.com/. For some reason, these decorations make think back to a time when holidays weren't so "commercialized" and decorating was much simpler. I know that it puts me more in the mood then a cutout of a severed head.

Maybe this time next year, the Christmas line will be available, because I'd like to use those to spice up my windows.

My mother had some of these. I especially remember the jointed scratch cat. They would appear from a box in the attic, then be replaced with similar things for Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Thanks for the memory jolt.
