Yep, that's why I'm meeting Rihanna and Eric Holder for beers after work.

I hope Holder doesn't show up.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Your plans for tonight are much nicer than mine. I hope that Eric is a no show.

Typical Thursday for me... just going to dress up in my Buzz Lightyear costume and ride my unicorn (in space. AND WITH RAINBOWS).
Youre last photo made me think of this:

Ha!
Just beautiful!
Thanks Roger.

If you are directing this statement at me, that is so very sad indeed. No one said you are stupid and no one said you are not able to understand things.
Emotions are high right now, sadly. I understand what you meant -- there was no ill will directed at anyone. I think it would go a long ways toward healing things amongst the regs if there was some sort of address from the mods detailing what happened...

Having been a member on many forums and a mod on one, and having been on both sides of issues similar to this, there is no way one could know all the details of what went down if they were not a part of the moderation team.

Also, and many are not going to want to hear it, but forum moderators don't owe anyone any explanations regarding their actions. Some will like it, some will dislike it, and some will not be emotionally affected one way or another, and chips will fall to various 'sides.' That being said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and to the way they handle each situation.

Because I don't know the details, I will not get indignant about it. Do I want to know? Not particularly. But I have a feeling this is not the result of the posting of one (non-relevant) to TFL photo.

But I am mildly curious about the behavior inconsistencies, only because it creates an atmosphere of doubt, as far as posting is concerned. As it is, I think and re-think my posts for appropriateness (mental editing). I don't want to now have to triple- and quadruple-think everything.

But then, I don't post anything risque or political, as they are really not appropriate for a 'GE' forum, so I'm not concerned.

True, they owe us nothing. But then, as can be seen from the paucity of posts in this and other hat threads today, their decision to remain silent appears to be having an effect on the Member's participation. Two have stated they're out. Several regulars seem to be staying away for now. Most of the posts in this thread are about the issue at hand. If it continues like this, I guess I'm out too. My friends are, or were, here.

They may have caused quite the brain drain on this forum. One of the reasons that new folks stick around is the knowledge and camaraderie shared among Members. This could become a death spiral.

Oh well, I guess there's a place in the world for the Leather Jacket Lounge.

I feel the same. I know I am not owed anything. I'm just hoping some sort of explanation will be given, and I understand that any explanation would be out of generosity.

I liked ol' Bob. Sorry all this happened. Evidently, he's already being missed. Anyway, this picture is from a few days ago but I'm wearing this conversion again today. Also, as I couldn't come up with a black 3/8 ribbon I did find another black 2 ply ribbon to make an OR style bow. So, it's now finished....my Resistol Stratocloner

I'm still debating whether or not to trim the tails down a little.

It looks great Terry. I envy your talent.

And I'm with Wess, I dig the longer tails.
It's a "Terry"ific break from the traditional Strat look.

I'm recovering from surgery on Monday & haven't been active but I did see the pic Bob posted. Most of us enjoy a little tongue in cheek humor & I found the pic to be just that, nothing more. But it had nothing to do with Akubra felt colors. I once posted a beach pic taken from a musicians website in the Musician's Hats thread that was removed by a mod & I let it go. Point being that it is the mods discretion as to how appropriate the pic may or may not be to the topic of the thread.

If Cindy is correct in that the mods were in discussion among themselves after Bob's pic was removed the first time then the real damage came when Bob took it upon himself to repost it, especially if he was in conversation with the mod group.

I don't know that we are entitled to any further explanation but perhaps some clarification & reconsideration from the mods are in order.

Hope your recovery goes well. And I think I remember that beach pic, Linda Ronstadt right?

I hear ya -- it's just that Bob's pic was posted soon after a pic of Pam Anderson in full Baywatch mode was posted. In fact, a lot of us post non-hat stuff in this thread... Sometimes shirts, sometimes shoes, sometimes awesome amateur Photoshop mash-ups, and sometimes music video embeds. So there's an inconsistency issue -- but especially in regards to the Baywatch/Whitesnake parallel. And since there's inconsistency, it's understandable that the public might perceive the mods as unfairly targeting the individual who received the punishment.

Wow I have seemed to have stepped into a hornet's nest here! Thanks for your comments, the hat is from Buckaroo Hatters and Mike did a wonderful job on it.
Its a great looking Buckaroo. I really dig the band.

I encourage you to ignore the hornets. Generally, this is a peaceful place.

Sadly, as you can surely tell, we are individually and collectively struggling with (for lack of a better way of putting it) the sudden loss of a popular member's virtual presence. Lots of shock, disappointment, and head-scratching for many of frequent Loungers.

Unfortunately, the community upheaval doesn't make a very good impression for new folks like you. But I hope you keep coming back. Hat fun generally be good, low stress fun.
