That's true -- but I and others who have been in touch with him would not want to speak on his behalf. I think we'd prefer if something a bit more open between accused and accuser were to occur.
Sounds like this info might be in conflict to what Cindy has posted. No point in commenting further or trying to sort this out & help if you don't have the inside scoop. Good luck in getting that format.

Good luck in getting that format.

Good luck indeed. All I hope is that this conflict can get some closure in a way resonant with the members. If you're aiming sarcasm at me for that, then I feel such sarcasm is unwarranted. An open forum isn't the only way -- some sort of statement from the mods would be a start. I don't think I'm being rude or indignant for asking those things. In fact, I'm assuming the best of the mods in that I don't think making these sorts of requests are hopeless.

Consistency is huge in rewards and punishment scenarios. I'm not fully understanding what's happening here, other than a punishment was handed out and the result of that created a level of distrust amongst some of the members. From what I'm gathering bits and pieces of information, the offended crowd feels as though the punishment was too sever for the offense. The offense being, from what I understand, posting an image of a scantly dressed woman, humorously driven by Bob. Bob's humor was making a connection between the hat color Tawny and a scantly dressed woman representing Tawny. That, on a surface value is funny, especially if it's her name.

The moderators didn't find it funny, nor did they find it appropriate. Perhaps the moderator found it inappropriate, distasteful, or unnecessary. So they removed said image. Then Bob posted it again in defiance. That move got him ousted.

Members feel that there have been inappropriate material posted without repercussions, let alone getting axed from the fora.
Members feel that because there's no precedence that's been that drastic before, there's no need to start with Bob now. Members want an explanation, as in, why start now, and why with a quality guy like Bob? Member are confused by the sudden and swift removal of a valued member who has only posted what others have posted previously e.g. Pam Anderson Bay Watch picture.

I don't want to be seen as an A-hole here so I removed my fedora pictures for the day until there's a little more clarity. I think everyone wants clarity which is normally the case when rewards and punishments are not being handed out with consistency. Members are timid, not knowing why the rules are "all of the sudden" being reinforced now and does this pertain to everyone or was it strictly a beef someone had with Bob. Again, there's lack of consistency that is driving all these questions, as I've heard them today.

As a middle-school teacher if I'm not consistent with my rewards and punishments, it causes the students to question my motives. Motives are being questioned here on the Fedora Lounge.

That's the best I could do given the piecemeal information I've been given.

Best,
Sam
Well put Sam, hopefully this to shall pass. We are all friends, and just like in a bar fight (virtual as it is) there is a "we got your back Bob" feeling on the forum presently.

It's been a crappy day. I'm going through some crap personally too. So, as soon as I pass through it, I'll be happier, wiser, and stronger. Stay positive. I have to stay positive.

As I headed out for some comraderie tonight, to fit a somber mood, I chose a charcoal grey Knox Twenty Custom Edge. Moon was kind enough to grace me with it sometime back.

It looks brown in some of the shots because of sodium vapor streetlights.

Now this one I like! (and all your others too, don't cry) The pics of the underside show a more correct tone of charcoal I assume?

Jeez, spend a few days away from a thread and return to find the villagers grabbing torches and pitchforks in preparation for a monster hunt. I completely understand the frustration, confusion, and dissent over Mr. Hemingway's apparently permanent ban, but if the Moderators here are anything like they are on the other forums I frequent we'll all be waiting a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long time for the Bartenders to explain their side of the situation publicly. Such a thing might have happened before, but I've never seen it. Like many of you I love Bob, and I sincerely hope the Bartenders will reconsider their decision and allow him to return.

Thank you.

The premier grade felt is very nice. It doesn't compare with good vintage hats, but in my limited experience, it's miles ahead of Akubra. The hand is nice, the crown is soft and reasonably compliant, and I really like how it takes a crease. I'd like to try an Excellent quality hat at some time, but these Premier grades are keepers.

Yup. You like Bob, I like Bob. As do Anthony, Daniele, Charlie, Cindy, Greg, Moe, Bob Hufford and many others. Nobody can see the offense of the "inappropriate content." Yet Bob was banned.
