Cut down N3-B

I have looked, but to no avail for a picture of a N3-B parka that has been waist-hemmed. I am not such a fan of the look, nor feel, of any flight jacket that has a waist band (I.E. any A-2, N2-B, G-1, etc...) and prefer the look and feel of the D-1,B-6, B-3, Irvin, or any 30's era open hemmed, waist-length jacket. If any one has a picture of the front and back of a N3-B parka that they have cut and sew up I would be very curious to see it.

Also, the wool lined N3-B parka has those elbow reinforcements, no pass-through pockets, a non zip hood and a few other details that add to its' appeal over the wool lined N2-b. If any one has done such a modification, please let me know.

Why don't you buy one and chop it up yourself?

No sane person would do this.
