I was hoping 40s but after receiving the hat and seeing this sizing tag behind the sweat, due to the words being below the numbers as opposed to above them, also block depth listed, I estimate this to be 50s. Sweatband conditioned with and drank up a ton of Lexol and in addition to being 100% in tact with no rips or tears, is now soft, supple and flexible. Also managed to stretch it after a naptha soak, from 7 to 7 1/8 and it now fits perfectly. Unfortunately the naptha soak did not remove the ribbon stain on the left side but other than that this hat is in excellent condition and I am enjoying it thoroughly with original center dent and pinches. A bunch of wonderful Dobbs posted in the last few days. They made me want to post one of mine. A 40s homburg in dark brown with reddish brown ribbon and slightly lighter edge binding. I bought this hat with a group of others that were mostly 7 1/8. This one is tagged 7 1/8 but fits more like a 7, so I’ll probably sell it.

The only flaw I can find are these spots.

I kept coming back to this one, so I just saved the pics to my laptop. I LOVE this hat. What a find!

Very nice Dobbs. That bow is sweet. Impressive lines.

Hello Sir: Very late entry. When i need a happy hat thought i just look at this hat cause it is all “Happy”!! If you ever decide to pass it on i hope you would consider letting me know. Also that white Cross Country i think you won a while back. I would keep them in good company. Thanks. Bowen

Here is a Dobbs "Westward" I got off the bay some small time ago. Real nice natural kind of dark tan color....has OPS pricetag of $10, so from early 50's..windcord too!! Came to me a little dusty and crumpled.....then after a good brushing on a hat block, followed by a good steaming and creasing....,

Ps First picture was from the seller....next three show the true color and my after results. Underside picture shows the hat and liner much darker than they are......liner is pristine and a real nice golden color.
