No, no, I recognize the one in your picture, I meant Abbott of Abbott & Costello, the comedy duo my profile picture depicts. Sorry for the confusion!

The circular Stetson logo was around long before the 1940s and stayed around long after

and yes some companies used circular logos on the sweat .... Knox and Lee come to mind ... but it has very little to do with the 1940s

The lack of a liner makes me think it was a summer hat? The leather sweat means it wasn't a roll-up. I'm also concerned with the brim as the photos show it down front and back, but I'm hoping someone just popped the snap brim down. I'm posting this same info on the Borsalino Brotherhood thread.

So what do you think? Do you know what model it is?

The brim flange, lack of a liner and the crown logo all point towards a borsalino traveler. It might be older than you think though. Modern Borsalino traveler hats have a leather ribbon/strap (and that awful gold emblem on the side). Late sixties, early seventies is my guess. Not to be used as a roll-up as you say, but more a hat for outdoors activities.

Yes to everything and also the size tag. It is a piss pour hat dater that would only look at one thing and try to tell you how old your hat is.

Moon and Carouslevic, thanks - I was pretty sure it was 60s and now after digging the much folded size tag out (rectangular black) and hearing your opinions I can forget about the pretty sure part.

Very nice looking hat, Justin. There was an English maker called Wilson (Joseph Wilson and Sons), but this one is another Wilson altogether.
