Things that make you smile

Is there the problem, that radio-stations partly are too much noise-reducting/compressing their microphones, so that the sound is clean but "dull" and boring, in the US, too?
Never having worked in the industry or having much of a direct interest in the technology, I wonder how much of this can be blamed on the radio stations and how much can be blamed on the original recordings? I remember audio tape becoming more prevalent in the 60s with four-track, eight-track, and cassettes, and aside from being more "convenient" never felt audio tape was a suitable replacement for vinyl records--far less reliable, and audibly lacking in the "richer" tones. And this has only become more pronounced as technology has "improved" and gone from audio tapes to compact discs to almost everything being recorded, produced, and broadcast electronically. Add to that the modern trend to over-produce every nanosecond that's recorded--auto tuning, filtering, filtering again, then again, adjust that note that's just a bit flat, add this bit that was recorded by a studio musician six months after the band left the studio, and so on--and the human element has almost been completely removed. At this rate it won't be long before human band members will become obsolete, and the only person in the studio will be the computer geek writing a program that'll make his laptop sing like Katy Perry.

Luckily, not all sound-technicians at our german public radio-stations overdo the compressing. If it's set correct, the transmission is clean, but if the setting is overdone, it's clean and thick/dull/dead. As far as I can see, that seems to be the difference.
Some radio-stations are too dull, but others seemingly not.

But, who knows really?
In my living-room, I'm hearing radio on basically clean/noisefree satellite-transmission from our local cable-network-operator. In my kitchen, I got a fourty years-old german quality monotone FM/AM/LW-radio and in the bathroom, I got a usual 2005s cheaper-quality FM/AM/LW-radio/world receiver, but still with correct telescopic-antenna, too, so that the receiving-quality of ultra-shortwave is basically fine.

That is a law office, the bound reports stack within reach. LOVE THAT ROLLTOP DESK!!!:D

I recently found the non-swivel chair (left) that someone discarded because
the top mat was slightly torn and the wood varnish had faded in some areas.
I enjoy working with my hands repairing and making them usable again.

The rolltop desk & swivel chair I already have. (From Bedford,Ohio)
I’ve added wood blinds to the windows.
Next thing to look for are the wood drawers above the rolltop desk.
There are several surrounding small towns that still have old
wood furniture/desk material for sale..:)

Jeez, that was like watching an episode of South Park. I couldn't understand one word it said; all I heard was a bunch of squawking.
