Bad experience with Aero Leathers.

Seank,
From the photo you posted the jacket color looks much more like the seal or dark seal Vincenza than the brown CXL I am familiar with. I too would love to see some outside photos to see if the leathe looks different with natural light.
I ordered a seal Vicenza board racer last year and this is definetly not Vicenza, it's CXL, but I agree with your assessment of the color. it seems to dark, almost chocolate colored.

Regardless of where the pictures were taken, wouldn't he know what the color is in person?

And regarding CS, it is up to the vendor to do everything possible to make the item correctly, especially when it comes to custom. Of course, the buyer can't be unreasonable, either.

And that is why I came here for opinions. I am not trying to be unreasonable, the jacket is not ugly, it's a nice jacket, just much darker than I expected and not what I had envisioned when ordering my "dream" brown fqhh Aero. I have been wearing it every day for just over a week and it's breaking in nice, and I'm trying real hard to love it, I just can't get over how different it looks than what I had in mind.
(Still waiting to get outside after work and get a good full sun photo)

Update...
Carrie with TB contacted me and sent me some additional photos of my jacket under a flash and better lighting and it looks significantly better. It's amazing how lighting affects the color. Her pics look really nice. Mine, not so much. It's still a dark jacket, but her photos have given me hope. Still have not been able to get a full sun pic but will soon.

Hang in there.

I've been down this path before where you fall in love with a leather sample or jacket picture that has a bit of aging to it (ask me about raw denim...) and you realize it's going to take some time to break the new item in and see the true colors and patina that comes from wear.

I will say that I continue to believe Carrie and TB genuinely strive to provide the very best customer service and honest advice. After purchasing my first Aero from her a last week, she once again made the entire process a wonderful experience.

Best of luck, Seank!

I prefer ultra dark brown. I have 3 brown jackets and my request when I ordered each of them was to use the darkest brown they had on hand

Seank, welcome to FL and sorry that your first experance with Aero isn't quite what you are expecting.

Are you close to the area where Carrie and Insurrection are located? You inidcate something about "picking up" your Cafe Racer. If you can pick it up directly, perhaps you can address the concerns with her directly.
The first photo you show (in more sunlinght, a warmer lighting sitaution) seem closer to what I know as Cordovan rather than Brown. I do agree that lighting makes a big differance however I do also wonder if somehow the first jacket you saw was more Cordovan.

I hope you can get this sorted out...good luck here!

Yes... If it were mine, I'd want an 0.75 to an inch off the sleeves.
My fit jacket was a 42 with 26.75" sleeves.
I shortened then by .5" to 26.25" and it came in right in that. I prefer a slightly longer sleeve which is what I requested, but I agree these could be a tad bit shorter, but I'm fine with it.
Carrie told me that the cafe racer I ordered to the same specs actually came in with sleeves .25" shorter than this jacket...so it has 26" sleeves. I am interested to pick it up this evening and see how much a difference that .25" really makes in the fit.

I have to agree that at first glance I thought it was a cordovan color, as well.

Seank..the first photo is definitely brown on my monitor not cordovan. Almost the same color as my russety CXL FQHH Bootlegger which I personally prefer over dark brown(only my BL has a more mottled antique hide finish).
Yep..I can't understand why you are depending on Carrie's photo when you have the jacket in hand and can see exactly what color it is. It certainly isn't the color of that first photo...IMO.

Same jacket, different light. Both are natural light and are white balanced to the same grey card.
As you can see, it varies a lot. It can get darker than the picture on the right or redder than the one on the left.

Update: full sun picture. Had to wait a couple days...we don't get many opportunities in Seattle for "full sun" LOL
It's a nice jacket but still much darker than I would have preferred.
On a positive note, the cafe racer I received in black CXL is sweet, love it.

This looks closer to the reddish tone than the brown in your original pictures. And in any case, it looks awesome.
