POUGHKEEPSIE LEATHER COAT CO.
JACKET-FLYING, TYPE A-2
A.C.CONTRACT No. W535ac28560

This jacket is based on the AC Order No-W535ac28560 by Poughkeepsie Leather Coat Co. of Poughkeepsie, NY.

The pattern is a very comfortable fitting jacket, with large wide shoulders, large arm holes, roomy arms, and a generous body. This one just looks sharp. Poughkeepsie does seem to have made a jacket with a rather small collar profile and fitted it to a large neck hole. This causes the collar to fit a bit more snug than any other A-2, assuming you would ever actually close it all the way.

1. Poughkeepsie Leather Coat Co. W535ac28560 A-2 Jacket
2. Fit: this pattern is a comfortable fit in the correct size
3. Leather: Full Grain, Chrome tanned, Semi-Aniline, Dark Russet Steer
4. Knits: dark russet brown wool
5. Thread: OD#3 Cotton (16/4)
6. Zipper: Exact reproduction Talon zipper by Waldes, Japan
7. Size: 46 refer to photos with tape measure for actual measurement

Manufactured by Diamond Dave in collberation with John Chapman of Good Wear leather and it shows this is a amazing A2 made to last a life time only selling as my jacket collection is to big and I just can’t wear them all so some need to go.

I’m the 2nd owner of this jacket it’s only been lightly worn no strange smells, I don’t smoke no pets , the grain on this steer is amazing photos just don’t do it justice, one of the cuff knits has a lose thread/tiny hole where the knit meets the leather in person it’s not noticeable unless your looking closely at the knits, the close up photo I’ve included just magnifys things , otherwise knits are in good condition no other issues to mention, the liner has a small mark just above the size/ leather hang tag not sure what that is possible some colour rubbed off from the leather hang tag ???? , the rest of the liner is in good condition no wear or tears , the zipper is perfect and works as expected, check out my photos if you need any more or any questions at all please ask, I’ve sold a few jackets here and plenty on EBay, these retail new AU$1100, plus postage I believe they are are made to order so there is a wait time.

There you go again trying to deplete my retirement savings. This jacket would fit me, as you know. I would rather 27" sleeves, again as you know, but those are hard to find. Very nice jacket! You know your stuff.
Please stop posting jackets that are perfect for me *^#@##!

Really want to find a used JC in my size, which is rare. Without trying to create any controversy, or long posts on the many opinions, and preferences of my fellow TFL friends. What is up with DD? Don't see many, and don't hear about that many either.
OK, folks, please don't react to harshly to this next question. Remember I'm just a newb.

Is DD, considered a lesser JC? Kinda great stuff, but not quite up to par with JC.

Maybe you could PM me to avoid any flaming?

Thanks,

Peace,

PS.
If Dave, or John are reading this, I mean no disrespect to either of you. As far as I can tell you both are the best there is!

Hi Jonesy,

I think the differences are Dave has set patterns and doesn’t customize fit. I also imagine that John has accumulated more vintage machinery and vintage parts. Dave uses some of John’s patterns from what I understand, and from what I’ve seen, they’re first rate.

Thanks @Tiboor. I don’t see many DDs on the used market. This one looks like a nose one!
