Wow! If I wasnt already impressed with SGF, I sure as hell am now!

How were they? I need details!

They are outstanding. She used all natural flavorings - fresh squeezed lemon juice, lemon zest (grated rind) and freeze-dried strawberries - which come through as very clean and robust flavors (with the Absolut Citron giving the lemon a nice but not overwhelming kick). Also, these are very fluffy but with tooth versus the squishy spongy texture of many mass produced ones. I can't praise them enough - she killed it (written with cheeks puffed out from immaturely chewing two at once :)).

That said, we are thinking of separating them out into lemon ones and strawberry ones next time as the the lemon flavor slightly dominates the strawberry which isn't fair as the strawberry (when we cut them and ate them separately) is a really enjoyable on its own.

Next up we are thinking will be a mint chocolate chip marshmallows - I can't wait.

Also, she kicked these marshmallows ⇩ out the other day - hot honey (honey with hot chillies) and bittersweet chocolate. This is them before being cut. They are incredible, the heat, honey and chocolate give them an adult and nuanced taste. They are much more than the average marshmallow.

While we get that Valentine's Day is a manufactured holiday to sell stuff, we try never to miss an opportunity to make baked goods.

So, SGF made these vanilla cupcakes with pomegranate buttercream icing and pomegranate curd filling (which really gives them a nice punch).

After keeping a decent number for us, we shared some with friends as seen in the third pic.

Today was a super girlfriend bread baking day - and it started before 5am.

Below in order:
  1. Mushroom, truffle cheese, potato, truffle oil, black pepper
  2. Parmesan, red onion, pistachio, olive oil, rosemary,black pepper
  3. Apple, extra sharp aged white cheddar, jalapeño, fruity olive oil

Two things, the first thing I think of now when I hear "Cool Whip" is "The Family Guy" Cool-Whip scene and, two, that looks like a simple, tasty dessert, but I'd up the oranges-to-whip ratio.


It is a pretty easy dessert to make. Mix the cream cheese and cool whip along with oranges, bananas or any other fruit until it’s a custard like consistency. Cool in the refrigerator and garnish as desired.

I never watched the Family Guy but that scene was funny.
