Premier fit Stringmaster. And thanks, your premier highwayman is a great jacket as well!

I was a little concerned the premier would be overly tight but Carrie recommended I size up to a 38 (I'd normally use a 36). My true size is probably 37 so that's why I said If I'd known I'd have changed a few minor measurements. A 36 Premier would have been too tight.

I wouldn't start second guessing 1/2 inch here and there, the jacket is brand new and will mould where it needs to. I'd wager it will fit even better in a few years and I think the fit looks amazingly spot on already...

Looks like a perfect fit. The Vicenza is a nice hide indeed; it'll be interesting to see how it looks in a decade or so, once there are enoguh jackets made from it in the widl to compare the the aging on other Aero hides. I love the throat-latch detail; I had one put on my Bootlegger way back in 2010. Never used it, but I just love it as a detail. Yours looks like a longer, more obvious design than mine - I love it. The coin / cigarette pocket is a lovely addition - that little bit of a nod to the Perfecto style which I've always believed evolved out of jackets like the Bootlegger style. Really nice. My original Bootlegger is cordovan cxl fqhh; I'm considering a brown one, maybe in goat, with a few different details at some point in the future. This is inspiring stuff!

BTW, is it Thurston making the rermovable collar for you? I recall Aero briefly did these around 2011/2012, but Ken put the kabosh on it because he wasn't happy with how they fitted. I've toyed with the idea of having one put on my next BL, though I think I'm leaning now in favour of a lighter hide for warmer weather wear, so probably not.....

Thanks Edward, no Thurston isnt doing the collar, I am sensing it may not be do able with this particular collar/lapel design but Im pretty determined to find a way even if it means prototyping something in fabric myself. Since Ive never done that I dont quite understand their reluctance perhaps Carrie if you read this you could help me understand the challenges of this design vs the J107.

On further consideration, there is absolutely nothing not to love about this jacket, including the collar, and maybe consider leaving it as is. If it is cold enough to need a wool collar, maybe consider this coat:

I have several cold weather coats my favorite being a ww2 era peacoat.

If i have it made Id like the fasteners to be discreet so that with the collar off it retains this look. We shall see.

IMHO the Bootlegger you just presented couldn't be improved on in any way and is as sharp as any jacket I have seen on this forum, including look and fit. It's truly amazing how nice Vicenza HH is, and is by far my favorite of all.

Man, seeing that throat latch is making me regret not asking for it on at least one of my D pockets!

That's a great jacket, and a great fit. Like Protein nerd said, don't worry about half inches, in the long run it makes no differences. A whole inch, that's another story!
If you want to speed things up slightly, spray yourself with water, rub it with your hands to make sure it soaks in rather than bead and fall, and then then just move around loads, crunch, and do the YMCA dance.
Do that a few times, and it will feel much better.
If a jacket is very stiff, rolling it up and and palm massaging it will help it relax a lot.

I also usually spend a bit of time on the bits that have multiple layers of leather, like the pocket flap, of the handwarmer entries, cuffs, collars, etc...
If you just bend them back and forth a few times, and roll them on themselves for a bit they soften up very fast.

You can make a jacket go from "It just came out of the box" to "This jacket looks at least a few months old " in a couple hours in your living room.

Done that with some of my FQ HH jackets and it really does the job of relaxing the hide a bit.

Thanks Worf, is the amazing Olive A1 yours?

Carlos, I did as you suggested and notice the difference today. Ive also worn it to work for 3 days straight now and it is definitely changing, softening up and molding to me a bit. The OP pics were the morning of day one and here is the end of day 3.

Received the sheepskin in the mail today. the color looks friggin amazing with the russet leather so again I am hoping to find someone who can make the detachable collar! Yes,I love is as it is but the fur collar was part of my original "aviator" vision and also a big part of why I added the throat latch to the design. Cheers all!

Zipped to neck. The Vincenza hide is really amazing. It is supple yet heavy, the russet color is very rich with great character and depth. I am dreaming of a dark seal version with non contrast stiching...next time.

Awesome looking jacket. Curious what the measurements of the jacket are. I am looking to order something similar, with the 1930s feel, possibly go with a BL also. I like how you have the body of the jacket short like they had them in the 30s.
