I guess my point is that I can't see where an Akubra thread interferes in any way with a vintage expert thread; but I can see how a newbie might post his Stetson Temple pic & comment in a Stetson Expert thread.
I stay out of the vintage expert threads even to "Ooh & Aah," & I don't think I have started more than a couple of new threads in my time here.

Made for Milton Baum, who is probably a relative of the volatile Adam Baum. Your research might start by Googoo'ing the names inside, tracking that aspect of the story for clues. Great lid! Good luck, @ReverbDave!

Thanks! I haven't heard of Adam Baum. I'm thinking its probably from the late '40's, maybe early '50's, but who knows? it's a 7 1/2. I got at an antique show in a nice '60's Dobbs box, both for $20 bucks.

Does it say Levy? If so I think might have been made in Baltimore by M.S. Levy. Baltimore was Straw Hat making center.

Anthony, I'm among the members here who truly appreciate your participation on this forum. Regardless of the topic, your humor and knowledge always made my day at least a little better and often improved it tremendously. But I've also been where you are with regards to your current perspective on The Lounge, albeit for somewhat different reasons, so I understand why you would want to step away and won't make any feeble attempts to convince you not to. I sincerely hope you'll return when/if you feel the time is right, or at least drop by from time to time, but you have to do what's right for you. So all good thoughts and wishes to you and your family, know that you'll be missed, and I/we hope to see you back again.

There is more info if you Google (or some other search) M.S. Levy Baltimore straw hats. I didn't search here so might be worth trying that too.

Does anyone have a Stratford hat ? I was looking at Winchester hat blanks and saw where they are owned by Stratford hat so I checked out there web site . Mostly uniform hats or western but I did see a couple I liked . Prices are good and I would think the quality is . So, anybody know anything about them ? Thanks in advance .

Glider, I don't own any Strattons, though a number of folks here do. I have handled them before and they seem to be built like tanks. Perhaps some who own them will chime in.
