One of two hats Daniele found for me. Both examples of Italian hatmakng at its finest. First one is a Barbisio Ticino in grey. Size 57 with a bound brim at 6cm and crown 11cm at the pinch. Lined with onionskin/oilskin covering of the crown patch. If anyone has more specific information about what that material is exactly (and if it's still available today) I'd be much obliged.
Very unusual form somewhere between a fedora and a homburg. Definitely meant to be worn brim up. So here's to Bob Roberts.

I really do like that Barbisio. Congrats Stefan. The cross style reminds me of a Meyser I have.

Steve, thanks. They are incredible hats. Barbisio has the most variety in shapes and styles of the Italian hat makers. I suspect the style was more common before WWII with other makers too.

I’m really digging the hat. These online gambles usually disappointment me but every now and then one works out; just often enough to keep my trying. The hat is on the small end of 7 5/8 but I’ll make it work.

The model hat referred to is the "Longhorn" and is introduced in the 53 catalog......I have one too.....found in it's original box. I posted it under the the Western anyone thread. GREAT HAT.....I Love mine!!

I think you did just fine on this one. Nice looking felt and construction. It is probably manufactured by one of the higher end jobbers. I have a couple that are not of high quality at all. Good find.
