This video is a little long but worth it. Rhiannon Giddens is amazing. The first time I saw her was on The Marty Stuart Show with Carolina Chocolate Drops. I should have added for anyone who is not familiar with her music. She sings historical music, which centers around the time of the Civil War and music she has written inspired by her readings of history.

The first time I heard this I was 10 years old or so and one of my older brothers friends recited it word for word in the car while my dad drove us somewhere. Nobody in the car had ever heard it before and everyone was enthralled and laughed out loud.
I have appreciated a good storyteller ever since.

I recall this tune on the radio.
I worked weekends helping to sort out the empty bottles
for the Canada Dry Co.
At one stop at a small country store, the owner had a pretty daughter with
long blonde hair and blue eyes. We looked at each other for the longest time
but never spoke a word every time we saw each other.
We were 12 and very shy. Puppy love.
