The "doggers" mostly wore a high heeled boot with a severe angle from the heel rand to where the heel made contact. The ropers wore mostly a lowered heeled boot w/o much of an angle, though not always.

Only in factory boots did I begin to hear terms such as X toes and the terms associated with different heel configurations. You and HJ are way more familiar with PB boots than I am, and all they list are heels and toes with prescribed numbers and letters and not names. Factory boots have different designations for their heels and toes that I have never been able to keep up with.

Tex Robin describes his in plain speak and I know of others that do it similarly but a different term.

At my work bench, tooling leather, when my wife opened a package she received today. She asked me to give them a cleaning. Dan Post, that she got very cheap at auction. These are made in Spain. She is enjoying wearing a variety of western boots, so I guess I am lucky, she keeps an eye out for my size too! I couldn't advise her on Dan Post, since I have never had them. They look good and she is happy, so all is right with the world.

A good way to get a fancy boot and not endure the expense of costly inlays/overlays, etc. I thought about something similar for my last pair of Bond's but saved my pennies for a few more months and went over the top lol.
