I like the tawny color, but the nap of the felt causes it to look discolored in certain light and from certain angles.

Thanks for the detailed description and photos. Indeed the proportions are impressive, and maybe I’ll get a chance to handle one someday. I have a Premier Stratoliner that kinda fills this heavyweight slot for me. So, I’ll still be waiting for that elusive Excellent Stratoliner in sage to magically materialize.

Keep me in mind if you come across a 7 5/8 Excellent Stratoliner, or a formula to turn lead into gold as they are equally common.

I don't know how much better flavor it had with all the nicotine colored funk that came out in the naptha, but it wouldn't surprise me if the little bastards died of cancer.
