Thanks for the tip with combing in the pomade. I have had a little bit of trouble with it but I have been getting better. I have more of a problem getting it out, especially Sweet Georgia Brown (blue), which is my new favorite pomade.
On the Dapper Man,
I bought it on their ebay store here...
I just got a jar of "Dapper Man" pomade in the mail today, and I was wondering if anybody here has used this brand before. here is their site:

Here is a picture of my new hairstyle using Sweet Georgia Brown blue:

I never said to just sandpaper straight away. I am saying to wear them for as long as you can stand, then to help the wear along with a little sandpapering on the natural wear marks.

Fair enough. I just like how the selvedge cuff just makes it look uniquely vintage. but back to workwear.
anyone ever get anything from these guys ?

If so how is are the prices for the items they are offering ?

Ok this might be a stupid Question for some of you 50's fellas out there, but I have mostly gone with 30's 40s hairstyle, but I am looking to try something a little more 50's esque this fall. getting the cut is relatively, but the styling is a little harder for me. any help would be great.
I...
I pretty good way to "age" jeans would be just to wear them for as long as possible then use a 200 sandpaper lightly on the natural creases, and then a wash.
On Jeans... Some really good costumes with Levi's in Nowhereboy, really worth checking out.

I would agree with to some extent, but why do you buy selvedge ? I buy it to be able to cuff it and get that nice look with the white and red/blue. I am just tired of the over-priced selvedge.
Charlie
They look decent but the lack of a left back pocket and belt loops really kills them. just my opinion.
Seeing as jeans are mostly workwear, and the selvedge pics above... has anyone ever made "fake selvedge"? I experimented with it yesterday with some decent results. I ended up taking old...
I bought these yesterday for a good price. I love them but I am wondering what time period you guys think they are from. The woman who sold them to me said they were probably 40's or early 50's.
Some more cool workwear pictures from the Life Archives:
I love this guys shirt. reminds me of this one
I like this guy's pants, reminds me of these
Enjoy.

I know that the the 501 and the 201 existed before the 1960's. If you want a vintage style jean I would suggest getting a pair of Levi 501's with Selvage edge. you can get them at your local Levi store.
Charlie
If I had to guess they will probably get longer inseams when they are out a bit longer. Or maybe they have longer ones in the store. I really don't know.

Did anyone see that Levi in the US started selling 201's? yes they are not perfect replica's but they are a good answer to vintage enthusiasts who cant put up the dough for the perfect ones. They cover all the major basis which are hard to come by on the cheap: selvage edge, indigo, and buckle...
Thats funny that you mention that because they probably are. These boots were used by the French Foreign Legion and a friend of mine recognized them from when he would go hiking/camping in Israel.

One problem that has been plaguing me in the summer months so far is keeping up the workwear look and not having my feet soaked in sweat clogging along in leather boots. today I found a cool shoe that fits the vintage workwear feel and breathes...
