ALL REPRO R.A.F. Irvin type jackets

Sorry but that is a stupid idea. The wax would ruin the jacket as every time you wore it, it would destroy the neck of your shirt. Barbour use cord collars for this reason. I have a wax peacoat type jacket I wear going to work . I must wear a scarf or it makes me look like a tramp. The wax does...

ALL REPRO R.A.F. Irvin type jackets

hi dave, in fairness to eastman, you have to make some allowances for the fact that sheepskin is a natural product and there will be some inconsistencies in its quality. the problem you describe about the cuffs is a fault/feature of the design. Irvins have long arms so the inner cuffs rub on...

    New guy going off!

you could try shrinking them down i did it with a cooper g-1 and an aero b-3 and it worked perfectly. I soaked the bodies, leaving the arms dry as they were ok and then blasted the jackets in a dryer on hot. i took them out every 10 mins or so and tried them on and repeated until i was happy...

    Vintage crawling for a B3

Personally i prefer the real pattern and think the knee length fit is wrong but apart from that i think that this what you want. http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?60593-My-new-Cirrus-B3-gunner-jacket

Does anyone have any Info on this B-3 jacket?

This jacket looks to be a good bit better that your average slash pocketed "civilian b3" rubbish that usually fits like a sack of spuds. it has the right pocket arrangement and the reinforced arms. The only thing that slightly lets it down are the belts which are stitched and eyeletted which is...

    B-3/B-6 Bomber Jacket General Questions/Help

This site in french has some excellent pictures of the what price glory b-3. As an owner of an aero b-3 i think it looks excellent. The shoulder tabs are about twice as long as they should be but a scalpel and ruler could easily fix that. (I opened it up using google chrome and it translated it...

    B-3/B-6 Bomber Jacket General Questions/Help

no offence but having a label that says b-3 on it is meaningless. if the op wants a jacet like his grandad wore then yours is not the jacket for him. for starters it needs to look like this http://www.aeroleatherclothing.com/product-detail.php?id=74 if he does not want to spent that kind...

    Urban B-3

everywhere. you can find this design in every mall / high street leather shop in the universe. despite the labels they are not b3's and dont come in sizes that fit real people. eg the japanese guy a few posts back.

water treating my A-2 to shrink it

ive shrunk a goat g1 and an aero b3. both shrunk quite a bit, now fit and have much more prominent grain than before. I wouldnt hesitate to do it again. you just soak the bits you want to shrink and leave the bits that fit dry and then blast it in the dryer. just be sure to take it out and...

Help needed please with identifiying this parka.

Bought Noble House „BF 109“ before knowing this forum ...

i think quite a few of the noble house jackets look very nice and their pricing is fairly keen too. some of their products though eg the 2 tone b3 and irvin are miles out. I think your jacket looks fine and if you can get the length sorted out, i wouldnt complain too much. Better too long than...
