    Medical Info of 1940's

Crumbs! I don't know where to look for this kind of info and need your help! I need some information on what a doctor would do in the instance of a shattered kneecap in 1945. It would have to be an army doctor. Would they replace it with a steel plate? Pin it together? I have NO idea...

    Munich

As I was sick yesterday, I stayed home from work and decided to put Munich in. I wasn't born yet when the 1972 Munic Olympic tragedy occurred, and I'm sure we merely skimmed it over in history class. So this was eye-opening for me. I know that it's not historically accurate in as far as...

    Frenchman's Creek (1944)

Anyone seen this? I saw it as a child on our local PBS station and finally found it on DVD last year. One of my all-time favorites. I love the romance between Joan Fontaine and Arturo de C??rdova. And the book by Daphne Du Maurier (on which it's based) is just as good if not better.

    America In WWII Magazine

America in WWII This is a fairly recent magazine - has been released in the last year. It mostly focuses on the people of WWII instead of the military tactics. Has tons of stuff on the American Home Front, stories from soldiers and others involved in the war, and always does a "gallery" of...

    We'll Always Have the Movies

In the latest issue of American in WWII, they reviewed this book: We'll Always Have the Movies: American Cinema During World War II. Looks to be a great read! I might have to wait and see if it goes to paperback before I buy it, though...

Hi all - I'm in the midst of redesigning my blog and I'm looking to make it a Golden Era theme. Any good places that I can find graphics? Our graphic designer at work is doing the design for me and I wanted to be able to give him some ideas of where to find some good graphics. If you...

    WWII Espionage

Hi all - I need to start doing research on WWII espionage for an upcoming project of mine. I have quite a few books on the OSS, but I'm looking for more information about agents who might have infiltrated Germany between the years of 1939-1943. Also - any basic books on espionage from the...

    The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril

This book is a return to the pulp fiction of the Golden Era, and is getting quite the attention in the publishing industry - and the cover is VERY retro! Anyone read this yet? Or plan on reading it? http://www.paulmalmont.com/

    POWs in America

Hi all - I did my graduate history thesis on the WWII German POW camp at Fort Robinson, Nebraska. I'd be interested to hear if any of you had a camp near your home since they were scattered throughout the United States. Unfortunately, most of them were torn down quite quickly. Fort...
