Thanks, FedOregon! The Akubra Rough Rider comes with a huge, pre-shaped brim. Ironed it flat, measured it to about 3.2", cut it down, then spent quite a while with the steam kettle getting the brim curl and dip just right. Stetson color question: Is their Mist Grey REALLY grey?
For anybody who might have (or have seen) hats in this color (and it may only be a western hat color), is Stetson's Mist Grey truly grey? Or is more a greyish-tan or tannish-grey? My new DM Akubra Adventurer, opinions please
Nice job! The Adventurer brim is a little wider all around than the actual Indy hats, but that in no way detracts from how good it looks -- and it does offer a little more sun protection as a bonus. Have fun wearing it :)- H Weinstein

I was only comparing my own DM Adventurer to the Fed IV. And while the Fed IV wasn't much darker, it was noticeable. I don't know how the Fed brown compares to Penman or AB hat colors.
