    Show us your Guns!

It's old news. It was old news when I worked in the industry in the early '90s. Maintain your weapon and practice fundamental safety and there can't be an issue, statistically it's a non-event.

Help Mr Vim learn to swing dance.

Sorry for the delay. She checked around and no one in the scene up here (that she knows) knows of anyone down there.

Help Mr Vim learn to swing dance.

Mr. Vim, Just texted (electro-telegraphed ;) ) my ex who teaches up here to ask if she knows anyone in the scene or teaching in Juneau. I'll let you know what she says. Matthew

Just poking my head in to say how nice it is to have someone else from Alaska on the Lounge. Not that I've been around much.

For anyone interested in stock, affordable 1911's (as opposed to the ones being sold with all the bells and whistles by most manufacturers nowadays). RIA has some very nice 1911A1 pattern all-steel .45s and .38 Supers being sold in the $350 range. Heard a lot of good things about them.

And Ode to the British Service Revolver

Judging from how fast and accurately men like Jerry Miculek (now) and Ed McGivern (then) could fire double action revolvers I'm not surprised at all that a Webley in the hands of a master could set records. The best shooters often note that once they reach a certain level of skill they can...

    45ACP Revolvers

Colt more or less destroyed their civilian handgun division in the '80s/'90s. They have yet to really decide to reenter the market in any seriousness, last time I checked they were only making 1911's and 1873 Single Action Army revolvers and were inordinately proud of them price-wise. At this...

Good call on checking with a "local" shop. They'll know the ins and outs. IIRC NYC has regulations on all sorts of things firearm related, even air guns and toys, beyond even NY state law. At least for a few more months... Mwa-ha, mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha... ;)

Guns aren't illegal in Britain, just (very) heavily regulated. I know a doctor over there who's a trap champion. Definitely harder to get a bunch of friends together to make an intentionally humorous and self-mocking picture though.

    Film Noir Buff?

I think, like our own dear FL, the title came out of the "original" intent and it sufferred mission creep. I mean, technically the FL should be "We're still trying to find a word to capture/define our interest in vintage clothing, lifestyle and stuff forum", though it started as a Club Obi...

John and Stearman, Thanks for that info. I'll have to revisit my sources, they all emphasized the raids due to the volumes involved and the Thompson/Monitor not being a stocked item in most stores.

    Show us your Guns!

Just one point. Most of the Thompsons and BAR's used by organized crime were in fact stolen in bulk from poorly secured and often isolated police and National Guard armories. The Thompson and Monitor just weren't stocked in enough quantity (due to their cost) to make onesie-twosie...
