    Aero made me a modified 'Stuart' model jacket a few years with the idea being just as you described - a like the A1 style but not the knitted collar (or any of the knits in my case). It gets lots of use and the buttons are rock solid, no problems so far.

    Yes, they can 'retrofit' a vertical pocket. I had a Highwayman re-lined last year and at the same time requested a pocket. Turned out very well, like it had always been there. Not sure on the customer supplied lining but i'm sure Amanda could give an answer quickly.

    Griff, I have a couple of Stormriders, one original from the 70's and a repro by Japanese denim fanatics Warehouse. They are both quite snug compared to a Highwayman and suggest you go for a 40. I may be a similar size to you as I take a 38 in a Highwayman and 40 in 30s HB.
