Most comfortable hat I have
I have some vintage and custom hats made for my long oval head but MY most comfortable hat is a modern Borsalino Alessandria. I think it is equal parts light weight felt, mallebility of the felt which lets it conform to my head, and its soft unreeded sweat band. Whats yours. -
The best and worst vehicles for the hat wearer

If you had $250 budget. What hat would you buy the same day and why.
I'm in the market for a hat. I won't mention the color. I don't want to wait for months for it to be made or to possibly find on the bay. Not at this time of year. It made me think of this forum and what would some of you buy if it had to be bought today. $250.00 budget. John -
Most hats in one year
I bought 5 straw hats and 3 felt hats this year and I have a custom on order. I could not see myself buying that number of hats again in one year. I may buy 2 or 3 at most a year from here on out. What is the most hats that you have bought in a years time. -

Modern 100% Beaver felt fedoras.
I do not find a lot of pure beaver hats out there. Most are as expensive as some customs. I have handled a Stetson Benchley. Probably the least expensive of all of them. It was the softest hat I've touched so far. It does not have the Chatham, Downs blocking. It's pinched at the front. I love... -
Panama Hat. Leather or cloth sweatband.
I am looking to buy a panama style straw hat and I am finding that most have cloth sweatbands. Some have leather or pleather sweats. Is it that most lower end straw hats use cloth and would it be hard to clean a cloth band on a straw hat.
