Dress shirts ... just dress shirts

Point-collared dress shirts are also my favorite. Club collars are okay and a big no for the tab-collared shirts.

Wearing a tie in a company that does NOT embrace ties?

Wear what you want to wear and never be influenced by the preference of those around you. Remember, neckties are decent accessories. It's not like you're wearing something funny, right?

What to wear to a job fair?

One thing that I am sure is that a person should never overdress. I think an applicant will get better chances of getting good impression by trying not to overwhelm employers. I suggest "smart casual" style all the way.

Chaplin Mustache in Modern Day Society?

What a wonderful imagination you have! Seeing a man sporting the "Chaplin-look" may probably have me staring, laughing, then I will eventually forget about it. If that person wishes to look that way then, by all means, let him be.

    Sunday Go to Meetin' Clothes

It is nice to dress up on Sundays when going to church or even during family meet-ups. It brings back the good old days when jeans were considered taboo, (If that ever happened in the past, that is.)

    New Knitwear

I love knitted clothes and the shawl-necked lambs wool cardigan that you have there looks quite eye-catching. However, I think that would look better with lighter shade of colors than with dark ones.

How about that vintage western look

No, vintage western style is not, in any way, charming to me. I just have a different outlook about a cowboy hat, that's all.

    Hats or Shades

I vote for the hat only! I do not think hats and sunglasses are actually made to be worn at the same time. That is what I consider as overkill.

    Cardigans for casual gentlemen

Cardigans will always be loved especially by someone like me who likes classic-looking things. Like some of you, I am also cheering for shawl collar cardigans so I am planning to buy a piece or two in the near future.

    Thin ties...any thoughts?

One way or another, yesterday's fashion will find its way and emerge in today's trend. I find skinny ties more attractive than the traditional ties worn by most men today. I tried searching through the web and I found printed neckties that would spice up one's simple attire. Pretty little...

    Pocketwatches

I have been enticed by the pocket watches you have there. However, I think I prefer collecting them and keeping them at home to carrying one around. A plus one for Paris7's pocket watch because it looks elegant while retaining a not-too-flashy look.

Let's See Your Watches! The Vintage Watch Thread.

I totally admire vintage wristwatches, actually. They look more stylish than the few modern watches that I see in stores today. I have to comment on Bugsy's pocket watch, though. I definitely love what you have there and I hope to buy myself that kind of watch one of these days.

    Planning your attire

Unfortunately, I don't plan what I wear for the following day. I wake up in the morning, take a bath, and pick random clothes from my closet. I own a lot of dress shirts and slacks so I guess there is nothing left for me to plan. I guess it is about the way I bought my clothes wherein all of...

    1930s sweater rules

I don't think sweaters should ever be tucked in. It just keeps me wondering why they every thought of wearing their cardigans that way. And, I am fervently hoping that this will not be a fashion trend this year since the vintage look begins to creep its way into our closets.

Boots, stylish yet practical, where ?

I am not really a "boots" person so I cannot appreciate some of the pictures that I have seen here. And as for nihil, I hope you enjoy your boots and it is sad to hear that your new pair of boots did not satisfy you. I hope you will see a new pair that you will fall deeply in love with.

gray hats and brown trench coats?

The present day does not call for matching colors, I believe. Sometimes, we have to become adventurous with our clothing and mixing colors is just one of the many different ways. Gray and brown won't look bad so go ahead and try it.

    Lace-up Shoes with White Tie?

It is acceptable to do some experiments, George A.Bailey. It would have been nice if you uploaded a photo of two of your attire so we could pitch in some ideas. I was trying to picture out your description and I think it is fine, in my opinion. If you think you can confidently carry yourself...

    Vintage Sunglasses

Vintage style is starting to become trendy once again, don't you think? There are those, however, that do not really have much appeal to me. However, I really did like those two sunglasses that Blackjack shared in this thread. They are totally lovely and I think I'll go find a similar pair...

    Bow Ties

Hi, Imahomer. You will never know unless you try wearing one. But I do agree with your opinion and it is true that not everyone looks good wearing a bow tie. Then again, I believe that wearing this makes a person look manlier and elegant so I guess putting on a bow tie from time to time is not...
