Tried on an ELC 50 Cal version B-3 when I visited their showroom. Would have purchased it but South West England now only has a few days a year cold enough for a B-3..quality was excellent
Sent my jacket for cloning and they did a good job & it gets worn regularly. My military leathers I get from ELC after ages of saving up. Wouldn’t go custom with 5*….did two & neither worked out.
I went down to ELC & tried on B-3’s. I am a 46” chest but size up to 48 on A-2’s to get a comfortable fit. Tried on a 48 B3 and it looked like I’d been jumped on by a bear…not a good look..yours looks great.
I’m done personally with custom. None of my projects worked out totally to my satisfaction...either fit wasn’t right or leather wasn’t as specified. Don’t own any now where I sent measurements & eventually a jacket dropped through the post. There were a couple of nearly rans, close but no cigar...
When I was a young man I traded a genuine earlier G-1 + cash to a local ‘retro’ shop in exchange for their ‘tailor’ making me an Irvin (showed me some nice leather baseball jackets allegedly made by same). Many months went by & then the big day arrived & they rolled out this rug! With my heart...
Mines cowhide think some were horse. It’s my oldest leather jacket and one I’ll unlikely ever part with. Heavy due to the thick lining but a great wearer when it’s chilly & carries a civilian vibe given its a cyclist jacket. 2nd hand I think they come up generally cheaper than an ELC A-2.
My Trucker jacket in black ‘deerskin’ cloned from a series 3 denim worked out in the end after returning to get the dye fixed and gets worn a lot. Unlined suede trucker was poor quality and the dye ran out when it met the lightest of rain leaving me with ‘streaks’ on my skin & ended up in the...
Looks good too me with those creased up sleeves..very rocking at that length. I also like the ability to show off my watches / ID bracelet. Imho sleeve length works well in tandem with the shorter body length.
Big Cathcart fan here, I buy a lot of their clothing. Just pulled the trigger on their slub green work pants and chestnut aviator sunglasses. I would second what Mr proper says that your green work shirt should work with many colours and pair well with denim.
Nearly another this week my end, cruising eBay and found a Weintraub MA-1 in my size made in the USA in blue. Did a bit of digging on here about others experience of owning these jackets & found a useful post from many moons ago which stopped me from sealing the deal on a BIN. Useful poster...
I am considering getting an MA-1 made by 5* in nylon. They already make these but we’re up for a custom one if I send them my best fitting MA-1 jacket to base it on. Only luck I’ve had with custom 5* was getting them to clone an existing jacket. On a side note I’ve got a couple of Alpha CWU...
Reason I’m currently buying waterproof Barbour jackets. Below is a footpath that I was going to be walking along today with Wife and dog, taking Wife out for a post Valentine’s Day lunch. Current footwear purchases are in the form of high Wellington boots.
Got a new Barbour incoming, UK is quite swamp like in places at the mo with months of rain. Most recent purchases have been water repellent :) slight M-65 vibe going on below:
My favourite Denim series 3 jacket was copied in leather & is now a regular wearer & gets lots of compliments. The other two 5* jackets didn’t work out….
