As a new transplant to the northeast (who got rid of most of her clothes before hand), I'm reviving this thread. Share your new sources for sweaters (wool overs is one of mine) stockings/tights/long underwear, hats, gloves, even cute house slippers :)- venusop

What is your favorite red lipstick brand/shade?
I just bought one of the nyx matte lip creams today on a whim. it goes on like a gloss, well a mousse really, with a wand. I got san paulo which looks like a dark dusky rose in the tube--a dark "your lips" color, but on me it looks more like a muted Cherries in the snow. Aside from the color... -
Copy a pattern or use an original?
Bumping this to let people know that dick blick is a good source for tracing paper. I got a 50yd roll of three foot wide paper, that is thin enough to lay on top of the pattern pieces and trace, but sturdy enough to hold up for quite a while. it was around $20- venusop

Stripping Paint?
I have a really great MCM dining set and it's in great condition, except for the fact that someone painted the top an off white over the original finish (I can tell since it's flaking around the edges and they didn't do the underside completely) Will the Soygel stuff remove the original finish...- venusop

Dying bras
It all just depends on the type of fabric that the bra is made of, and which dye brand you use. I know you can dye nylon using Rit, but not polyester. I believe there are available dyes for polyester though. if that bra is cotton or rayon or silk based it's also no problem. If it's a poly-blend...- venusop
