Eastman A-2 Flying Jacket Rough Wear Clothing Co. 1401 40R Jimmy Stewart Tribute

A new Eastman A-2 Flying Jacket of the Rough Wear 1401 contract from their Original-Maker Collection without insignia is currently $1,475.00. This specific A-2 jacket being offered is lightly used and substantially discounted to $800.00 for that very reason. There is only one available in...

    Which Eastman A-2?

Hello, Matt! I sincerely appreciate your vote of confidence in my opinion. I really do not wish to insert myself in the sale from ELC to you, as I certainly would not appreciate them doing that to a sale for HPA and I believe they would feel the same way. What I am willing to say is just go...

    A2 Re-Dyes.

Presently, the only 48L we can offer would be the ELC Reissue. Please note that we are no longer have an affiliate page here on TFL, so future questions of this type are best addressed to our office phone or e-mail. Thank you!

    Lost Worlds G-1 Review/experience

Close, but not exactly. Please note: - Nothing is as authentic as ELC or Buzz Rickson, in terms of the G-1, but even these have their downsides - no one produces a perfect copy because that is just no longer possible. - The LW jackets I have seen and handled are built like tanks...

    Lost Worlds G-1 Review/experience

So one must own or have owned a LW G-1 to comment on this thread and you and all others who are commenting on this thread fall into this category, right? And you are appointed to police everyone, too, right? Please do show me where I am "always trying to sell my product," outside of my own...

    Lost Worlds G-1 Review/experience

The subject says it is a review, so is not authenticity part of that which should be discussed about a brand touted by the brand owner on his website as the best? Such posts have already been made vis-a-vis exacting detail by no less than a few members in this post, so is there a particular...

    Lost Worlds G-1 Review/experience

I fully concur with you. Judging only on the objective and not the subjective points, the top G-1's (for authenticity) in weight, build, materials, and detailing are split between Eastman and Buzz Rickson's. There are some very talented smaller and solo operations making very commendable...

The snaps are found on all genuine B-3's produced beginning in 1938 and any repro B-3 endeavoring for authenticity.

    Which Eastman A-2?

LW, as long as your chest measure is about 46", the Eastman Rough Wear 27752 should be fine. Referring to the SIZING TIPS on our website, you need to maintain no less than 3"-4" of room in this style, thus a size 48 measures 50" in chest circumference and if your chest measures 46", you are...

    Which Eastman A-2?

Yes, certainly we take returns. There are other ELC A-2 styles that are both larger and which fit differently, so we have some options to outfit another coat size larger, but fitting a chest measure larger than 49" is not something we can do effectively in any offerings under our tent.

    ELC: Skipped stitch holes?

Well, firstly, this is a used item from a film, but perhaps not used much. Secondly, it was made with heavy TimeWear for the filming, so this could be a byproduct of the heavy TimeWear; normal ELC TimeWear is not anywhere near this heavy and those jackets don't display broken stitching...

    My new Aero B3 15mm

Carlos posted the three different depths I cited previously for original B-3 production. As for the B-6, it was all specified as 1/4", which is how ELC makes them and the D-1.

Another very early example utilizing available materials from the N-3.

USAF N-3B parkas - Let's talk about them!!

Not just an N-3A, but a very early example that utilized the coyote/wolf hood trim and brown sheep wool in the hood; the rest of the cast in the color photo wear the typical N-3A's.

Sheeley Parachute Co G1 and BR B-10/B-15 Jacket

Every WWII-vintage jacket I have handled definitely has what I would describe as a prickly feel to the alpaca-and-wool linings. I am not the best guy to ask about sensitivity, though, because I am largely immune to being bothered by wool, but I can perceive the scratchiness that drives some...

Buzz Rickson William Gibson G-1 Flying Jacket, Black Shrunken Buffalo

Nope! Different item entirely. The model Clutch is offering is an AN6552 and made from goatskin, not shrunken buffalo. It is, of course, a really fine item, but not the subject of this thread.
