I found a Seth Thomas rex similar to the one below at a thrift shop. It was Seth Thomas’s economy model priced at 12$ in 1921 The case is in good shape minus a small dent and the 89t movement is in really good condition and it had everything but the key. Whoever donated it put the bob in...

    Show Us Your Mechanical Clocks!

don’t think I could ever afford one but the early cuckoo clocks and rooster clocks are interesting. The late 1800’s seemed to be a big time for novelty clocks and atomatons. It’s a shame the carving quality faded off in the 20th century

    Show Us Your Mechanical Clocks!

Nice clocks, I have a Gilbert tambour clock that was given to me as a parts case with a pendulum bob and hands.the case had the gong in it, so I sourced a Gilbert movement that would work in place of the original. I adjusted it some and it seems to be within seconds of satellite time. My next...

    Lamp

I did notice that it didn’t fit right on the glass reflector shade on my other lamp so the top might be bent. I hadn’t thought about using metal mesh before, that would look good with cast iron base.

    Lamp

I bought a 30’s floor lamp to restore and I was given a shade frame with it, but I haven’t seen a frame close to it before and I thought maybe someone on here might know what style of shade it is? It looks like a bell shade with a flat 1 inch rim at the base

Found this at a thrift store, I'm guessing it's late 20's/30's. Cord looks to be original and in good condition. Never seen putty used to hold a shade before

    Lampshade

I ran across a small boudoir lamp at a thrift store. It still had its cloth cord and inline switch which were in good condition. From the look of the switch on the cord I'd guess its late 20's or 30's. it's about 8 inches tall, wood base with painted porcelain for the main part of the lamp...

Doctor.... Who? Spoilers! Really, don't read if ur not up to date.

I'm just going to watch it and see how it goes. I haven't seen any of whittakers prior roles, but I'm sure with good writing and plot development Whittaker might do a good job.
