The best hat jack in the world!

Hi gang, I received my hat jack from John Penman last week and this is among the absolute must haves for anyone who wants to keep or restore the perfect fit of his hat. Here's two pictures of a prototype - I'll take pictures of my own, when my wife comes back with the camera...

This one is for you dad!

Thanks again guys! HIGHLY appreciated:) That's my father's first name, so that's why;) Yeah... I didn't see that a part of the one side dent had popped out before I took the pictures. No, the felt is so soft, it takes any crease with easy. I never use any steam for shaping a hat...

This one is for you dad!

I've already shown you some teasers of this hat in the "a couple of hats" thread. However I cannot deny that my pride makes me believe that this hat deserves its own thread. I hope you don't mind. Four, almost five years... this is how long you've been bugging me to PLEASE make a hat for you...

Something I've Never Seen in a Sweatband

I used onion skins on my first sweatbands, but decided against it when I switched over to using roo hide in opposite to goatskin. I've found it to be more comfortable (read: less warm) when there's no onion skin on the the backside of the sweatband. Of course that's my personal experience only...

REQ: Photos of non-brown, non-Indy Adventurebilts (+ Reg vs Dlx)

Thanks a lot Gentlemen:) As for the narrower bow... I'm so used to see myself with hats of that very brim dimension, that I didn't want to take any risks on that one (as time was slipping away already). For me personally, that's the preferred width, but of course I can always trim it down...

REQ: Photos of non-brown, non-Indy Adventurebilts (+ Reg vs Dlx)

Hey y'all, I was doing some grocery with my wife on Saturday, getting my shoes polished up and my suit cleaned for my sisters wedding this upcomming Saturday. Then it hit me: "I ain't got a matching hat for that day :eusa_doh: " And there's no way in "where-the-devil-lives" that my wife...

REQ: Photos of non-brown, non-Indy Adventurebilts (+ Reg vs Dlx)

Sure. Here's the Kaplan jr. from the inside. I'll have new liners within a few months though (with our new logo that is woven instead of printed). The new liners will also be made from bridal satin, which is a little bit more smooth then viskose satin (and WAY more expensive I may...

REQ: Photos of non-brown, non-Indy Adventurebilts (+ Reg vs Dlx)

Yeah, I guess when you're the bean counter, purchaser, hatter, customer service and developer in one person (and that in your spare time) it limits the available time down quite a bit;) My buddy Kim in Denmark will take over the shirts, buckles, holsters and belts from now on, so I have a little...

Oops! I didn't even KNOW that the Cavanagh edge is so desired:confused: To be honest, I just considered this a personal thing to be able to come up with one... Regards, Marc

REQ: Photos of non-brown, non-Indy Adventurebilts (+ Reg vs Dlx)

True! Except (yeah of course... this HAD to follow;) ), when I make a hat and I wouldn't be proud of it, it won't leave the hat shop. To some that is a little over the edge. Granted. But to me, if it CAN be done by hand, it SHOULD be done by hand. Otherwise I'm simply not happy with my own...

    Completed Leather Hatbox (picture intensive)

lol No Panda Kabuto :) It's a felt that the grandfather of my felter made ONCE and than decided to let it go, as it would be too much trouble. I've been beggin' on my knees for half an hour to get a few of these rawbodies and even longer to make my felter agree upon making them again. The quote...

REQ: Photos of non-brown, non-Indy Adventurebilts (+ Reg vs Dlx)

Thanks Gents:) This is a pain in the behind to be perfectly honest... I've spent 5-6 hours just on that bloody brim edge on this one, so be preparred on bleeding finger tips and harsh words, when you do so ;) I use the thinnest needle I could get and a matching (thin) thread (the same as I...

Get outta my brain, will ya' lol Yeah, I've got a project that I've been working on for some years now (a vintage type of felt... EXTREMELY rare and even more expensive:mad: ). That would be the hat box to have for such a project;) Regards, Marc
