An effective, modern alternative (gasp!) is Jack Black's Pomade. Okay it's not The Real Deal, but it holds well, washes out easily and has no real scent to speak of so it doesn't interfere with the wonderful smell of my Pinaud aftershave powder.....which my wife loves.:D- B R A N D X®

Unfortunately that's a free market system at work.......the market dictates what survives and what doesn't. Minimal demand equals a discontinued product. ideaguy, I use a Nikon D2Xs and this shot was taken with the NIkkor 28-70mm f/2.8 lens. I shot aperture priority mode so I chose the f/stop and let the camera vary the shutter speed as the light changed due to clouds passing overhead outside my window. toobacat, I'm not sure about the crown height, but the Sterling Beaver is slightly higher than the other two. I believe Art lists the Trackside at a 5 1/2" height. Viper Man, I won't state an outright favorite, but I will say that b/w the Optimo and the VS the VS represents the better value at a couple hundred dollars less.
