If anyone knows, it would be Rachel Frost: http://www.thecraftybeggars.org You could try contacting her, she is the only specialist with practical experience in pre-industrial felting and hat making techniques in Europe that I know of. There may of course be others - I would suggest you look...
Happy 4th July to all Americans on here!
Been too busy to spend time procrastinating online or take pictures of hats, so I have hundreds of posts to catch up on again... Leaving on a trip very early tomorrow with only two hats in my hat case (but perhaps returning with more, who knows). I will...
Freshly ground coffee makes a cuppa so much more enjoyable to me, not just because the taste really is better, but it is also part of my morning ritual. I use a Zassenhaus hand grinder, but I have also got an old Braun electric grinder as a backup for when I am really lazy.
Everybody is looking great again, even in the heatwave! I didn´t get round to taking pictures of my hats these last couple of days as I was distracted by dentist´s appointments, must remember to take a photo tomorrow...
Beautiful Stetsonian! Glad to hear the storm has moved on and you are safe...
You deserve a beer after that! Enjoy the weather while it lasts :)
I agree, that hat does need to be worn more often! The crease looks nice like it is from where I'm sitting.
Love that liner picture! I like a nice liner - no one gets to see it when you're wearing the hat, but it just feels...
We are a bunch of hat snobs, it's true I'm afraid ;) But once you get to know people here, you will find they really are a great bunch. I for one would love to see some pictures of you wearing some of your hats in the What Hat Are You Wearing Today thread. It's a good place to get to know people...
Thank you very much for the compliment. The hat is by Gabriela Ligenza by the way, I forgot to mention that earlier.
I like the progression from business to casual in these photos. Three very different looks, but all great!
Such sweet pictures of you two! Nice hats too.
I am really sun sensitive, so there is no way I am leaving the house without a huge hat and factor 50 sun cream in this weather!
Thank you Michael, summer has finally arrived up north :)
Thank you so much!
Thank you very much, it is good to be back! And I am happy to have finally found a worthwhile hat on the local flea market, hopefully the first of many :)
What a great bit of history, Steve, I really enjoyed that post. And so nice for you to have come across a seller with such knowledge.
Your...
I am away for one weekend and now there are hundreds more posts to catch up with! Everybody is looking great as ever, I loved seeing @FedOregon 's family pictures, @Michael A , @Redfokker and @Dlaniger 's outfits and everybody sporting the lovely @EstherWeis hats.
Hot and sunny here today...
I definitely have more hats than shoes and handbags combined... But maybe I am not your average woman. I just don't understand why these loungers' wives aren't happy that their husbands love hats so much.
I am loving all the straw hats on show today. I am in the market for a new Panama hat, so it is giving me lots of ideas. Now to decide what to get...
Thank you Red, knowing I made your day makes me happy :) I hope your dentist's appointment wasn't too awful and you're not in any pain. At least...
I should have known you were way ahead of me! I am sure there already is some sort of smartphone app you can use with trackers so that it starts beeping when you come near the hat :)
I have started a trend :) Looking good!
Now I know what that hat needs, some birds nesting it! Unfortunately...
Thank you Michael. I just get quite excited about getting my straws out at the start of the season, don't worry, it'll pass. We still get a lot of rain and wind here, even in spring and summer, so the felts remain on standby.
Yes, I suppose it would be. I guess I have been living in central/northern Europe for too long, I think it is warm and time for summer dresses and straw hats when temperatures get to 20°C!
Thank you very much :)
Thanks. Maybe you need to start organising your hats in a spreadsheet with...
