“WTF’ Hats,” that are hard to believe...

Unexpectedly found myself in our local paper wearing my Buffalo hat. Picture was taken Halloween afternoon during a community event. Not a very good pic...

Have any of y'all ever made a puggaree for a Wolseley?

    Making a Puggaree. Advice?

Hello everyone! I was recently gifted a Wolseley pith helmet by my nieces. It isn't a fancy one, and has one of those 'one size fits most' liners, and the chinstrap leaves a lot to be desired. I'm going to take it to my local hatter to see what he can do about the liner and chinstrap...

    Show us your Vintage Rucksacks!

Recently acquired at a local action, a vintage Boy Scouts Yucca pack. From what I know, it's probably from the 1960s, but it's still in really great shape. I was able to find the owner's name and his Troop number and city, but I'm not finding any information on the Troop. I've even checked...

    The Adventurer's Gear Thread

Thanks for the advice. It does look like a Boy Scout canteen, but have found no indication of it. Palco produced some canteens for them, but those had about a 1" wall widening the thing. This one is basically a discus. I'm hoping there is a manufacturer's mark on it that can be seen once the...

    The Adventurer's Gear Thread

Found a rather cool, vintage canteen the other day. No clue as to the brand, but I have an idea in mind for use within the Rover's vintage expedition gear collection. Someone has sewn a blanket material cover around it and I plan to remove it in order to see if there is a maker's mark. I'll...

    Classic Safari vehicles!

Thanks. Virtually every vintage Rover owner I know here in the States fell in love with the vintage Rovers due to watching MoOWK. That's where I first saw them. Had no clue what they were until the mid/late '70s when I saw the W.H. Britains military Rover in a toy store!

Thanks. I also agree with you. Land Rover lost its way years ago and are now "fashion statements" as well, especially the newest one. Jaguar - Land Rover have even dropped the name and are just going with 'JLR'. They are no longer going to build their vehicles using the name 'Land Rover'...

Yup. They walked around the Rover, took tons of pics, hunted me down in my friend's shop, and told me that they felt Grover deserved it.

I don't have a subscription, so they won't let me read it. Any chance you could copy and paste? BTW - my Rover got ducked by a group of Jeepers a couple of months ago.

“WTF’ Hats,” that are hard to believe...

Mine doesn't fit very well and there is really nothing supporting the upper part enabling it to hold its shape to the heights of its glory. I even have a golden eagle and chain the fits on the front of it, but the weight really brings it down. I need to take it to a hatter and see about...

Nice.... what year? 2.25 petrol? Here's my '63 Station Wagon, 2.25 petrol. You can see my makeshift tailgate, it normally has the full rear door; tailgate is on when the trop top is off.

How long have you had your rig? Looks good. The ultimate item on my 'bucket list' is to ship Grover to Africa and spend quite awhile exploring.

    Safari Express rifle pic thread

I have a thing for books, have since before I could read as well. I was in college back in the '80s when schools were starting to pull books from their shelves do to 'concerns'. A good friend worked in the library there, she helped me rescue them - when they were removed from the shelf they...
