I've got an absolutely beautiful size 7 1/4 Stetson homburg that I would like to sell. It was listed on ebay with incredibly grainy pictures as a fedora. I bought it just to cannibalize the liner for one of my fedoras, but this thing is in such great shape that I want someone who will...
It will shrink. Give it a week or two of wear before you give up. I got a Stetson reworked by Optimo and it came back at least half a centimeter too big around. After a little wear and work at shrinking it fits perfectly. Akubra sweatbands have a greater tendency to shrink than that one did...
I have a Schott Slim Fit Pea Coat (the 24 oz wool one made in Canada) and like it a lot. I can only imagine the official version is just as nice. I got the Slim Fit because I wanted a slightly lighter weight coat and don't really like the quilted lining. Schott definitely sells good stuff.
First off, way to go! I'm sure you'll have fun with it, especially with such a positive attitude. Whenever I shoot indoors I always wear foam ear plugs and muffs over them. Gunshots are LOUD inside. Hearing is easily lost and impossible to replace. Other than that just pay attention to the...
Nice pictures, thanks for sharing. It gives a completely different perspective to see a jacket being worn rather than laying on a table. Quick question for you if you don't mind... how easily can you move your arms wearing your jackets, especially bringing them over your head? I almost bought...
As with most things, it varies from person to person. I'm sure that some people vent more heat through their heads than others and there's no question that people perceive temperature differently. I feel cooler with a hat on; I still sweat, but having my face shaded makes the heat more bearable.
True, there is something to be said for the pursuit, struggling mightily in the arena and all that. Personally I'm a bigger fan of opening that big box and putting a snazzy new hat on my head! But I guess I'm not alone in that as this entire forum's existence attests.
*Sigh* Thanks guys, now I need to go find a green hat to supplement my brown, black, tan and blue ones. It never ends does it?
Bidding does not equal winning. Trust me on this.
I've had success in stretching 7 1/4 size hats up to about 7 5/16. I'm right between a 7 1/4 and 7 3/8. I've heard you can go up at least a full size and sometimes two, depending on sweatband condition. Any more and you start to distort the hat's shape. One thing I would recommend is that if...
DOH!
I knew there had to be an inventory system (my hat is off for how well you've done also), but I assumed the stickers were done at the warehouse. DOH! My apologies John. It's still great to get the original box to go along with a hat. Now I just need a Lee to put in it. ;)
Thank...
Well, you guys tell me. Keep in mind this is a dry bash. I still can't get over how well it shaped.
And, as requested, the Stetson Weekender. I put a decent diamond bash in it, but I can't seem to get the wrinkles out. Maybe I'm being too hard on it. A little steam might help...
