Tony!
Always a pleasure. It would be great to see you again.
Bolthead: I will take pictures and post to show what I am talking about on monday. That dobbs is a nice one!
I had one just like that, and I took the band off and put on a two inch thick black ribbon --much to my surprise, it...
I was curious if anyone in here wears the stingy brimmed wool patterned fedoras that were all the rage in the 60s?
--If you dont like them, thats fine. I am aware of the general consensus around here, I was just wanting to see if any loungers like that era, and if so, would it be possible to...
Barber Shop
Do any of you have opinions on barber shops in san francisco?
Im heading up there in a couple of weeks, and would like to get a shave with a straight blade while im there.
Last I checked, Frank Sinatra, and Schlitz werent exactly doing too awfully. Nor were they too terribly counter culture. But Im glad you throw "blacks" and "asians" around like that. Apparently your social candor stopped mid 50's as well. I think talk like -that- is always off topic, regardless...
Fedoras, 1961-1968
This is all in fun, mind you, I harbor no ill will, but I still most cordially disagree. No hippes here. All Americana.

I havent been around in a while, but a post from Jack is the best place for me to jump back in again, I think!
Lewis was always immaculately dressed, and a fine man to emulate. The thing is, he never wears the same suit twice, because he is allergic to the stuff in the dry cleaning process...

I was curious what your thoughts are on wearing a straw fedora in this season? I dont own any panamas. My brims are all stingy, so its a different style than many on here. Does this make a difference to you? Does it make a difference to you if its a tight weave or one...
It all depends on the picture, right? Studio portrait? No hat. Outdoors with the relatives, before its time to hit the road. The hat is okay. I mean, a picture is intended to capture a certain image of a certain point in time. If the fedora is such a huge part of you at the point in the time...
stay stingy, my friend. not to say that the hat isnt nice. It is a very nice hat-- For someone like Baron Kurtz(first fellow who came to mind). I dig the Stingy Senator.
one funny thing about him. Since his alcohol inflicted death was brought up...It makes me smile to know that he had his trumpet case modified to have a storage compartment for his booze.
