    Any Tips on safari outfit?

Looks like Lands End has re-released a few W&G items, including the Hemingway Jacket- http://www.landsend.com/shop/search?Ntt=willis+geiger The prices are actually pretty reasonable, comparable to their prices in the 90’s. They say the quality and detail is exactly what it was before, but...

    Any Tips on safari outfit?

They did the same thing with their former bush shirts and jackets, making them out of linen which wouldn't last two days in the bush- ..and ghastly overpriced. Shows they had no intention producing authentic goods designed for their intended purpose. Even Orvis seems to have gotten away...

    Any Tips on safari outfit?

I heard he was pretty loaded in most of his video series. Never watched them myself, though. Burt Avedon and many companies have tried, but Lands End wouldn't sell it. Something about them not wanting to be embarassed if it thrives. Read my thread on this several threads below. On a side...

Interview with former CEO of Wilis & Geiger

The Great Lost Expedition Brand http://www.vice.com/read/the-great-lost-expedition-brand-000212-v20n2 I used to be a fan of Willis & Geiger, the old expedition clothing company, before Lands End shut them down. I stumbled upon this fairly recent interview with Burt Avedon, the former CEO of...

'Everyone lied to me': Hitler's rant in bunker

Is there anywhere to read these newly disclosed documents? That short article doesn't really reveal anything that wasn't either already known or shown in the movie Downfall.

    Abandoned Republic

Interesting, I might have to take a look at that. It's very puzzling why that particular niche of adventure clothing retailers (BR, Abercrombie, Willis and Geiger) are unable to survive without being completely transformed from their original image/market. There's plenty of demand for that...

The morning after...Ow... my eyes...Hangover help.

I usually just take a couple of aspirins, and swallow them down with a single gulp of water. I've found that drinking more water with the pills makes it slower for the painkillers to digest. I know they say that lots of liquids are good, but my stomach usually can't hold down lots of liquid when...

I just got their catalogs in the mail today. Top-quality stuff, but the prices are ridiculous. $115 for Gurkha shorts? $200 for a safari shirt? The original willis and geiger one was under $70, and they were considered the most premium and expensive outfitter at the time. Makes me wonder who...

    California Wines

I really like Eberle, Meridian, Grey Wolf and Peachy Canyon wines from Paso Robles. They're kind of hard to find, though, even here in Bakersfield, which isn't very far from Paso Robles. I think Trader Joe's might carry some Paso wines.

Classic firearms of the classic era.

I like the 1911, due to its legendary reputation during WWII. The Germans were scared of them.
