    Vintage eyeglasses cracked and crumbling

Hi all, Hopefully this is the right section for this question. I was gifted with 2 pairs of vintage eyeglasses. While very cool, the plastic or whatever they are made out of is very badly cracked everywhere. Is this repairable or should I just toss them? Could I even sell them in this...

    Show Us Your...Inkwells

Yes, I did get pens -- thank you! I have a black and a clear tip in there. I put the red tip in my other red Esterbrook inkwell so they would match. I'd love some fancy glass inkwells like Shangas has, but I don't use dip pens all that often...

    Show Us Your...Inkwells

You can see my restoration of my vintage bakelite Esterbrook inkwell here. I have since gotten pens for it as well. I don't use it with ink very often because it's a pain to clean it with the ink reservoir. :)

    Telephone Repair Recommendation?

Hi all, I have a Crosley desk telephone in need of repair. It looks like an old rotary phone, but is actually a newer phone. It's been working fine, but now has a very loud buzz. Crosley will not repair it because it is a discontinued model. Anyone know of a telephone repair place in the...

How did they keep their hair-do's from week to week?

My grandmother is one of these women that gets a wash and set once a week. She does sometimes get a sleep spot, as some ladies here mentioned. She often sleeps carefully on her side, which may be to minimize hair mussing. She does have to touch it up in the morning, which involves adding a...

Parts for vintage record player repair?

Hi all, I have a 45 rpm record player from the 1950s. It is a RCA Victrola. It currently does not work and a friend of mine is repairing it for me. I need to get a new needle and cartridge, but can't find the parts. I have been resesarching online, but cannot find them. Does anyone know...

    Eye Cream

Hi Ladies, Hopefully this is not too off topic. I am wondering what eye creams any of you ladies use for fine lines/wrinkles and or undereye darkness. I have been using a clear gel by Olay, but don't feel that it is working as well as it used to. Thanks!

    Pattern swap starts here!!

Exactly! I would really like to have some more feminine ones that are shapely and have more feminine colors and details. I have looked online, but haven't really been able to find any, so again, thought making some could be an option and posted here. I'm not sure that pattern you posted...

    Pattern swap starts here!!

Those are cute - I suppose I could just make the pants part longer. I was originally thinking mechanic type overalls like http://www.superstock.com/stock-photos-images/1525R-12726 or http://www.armynavydeals.com/asp/products_details.asp?SKU=WWCS112A&ST=2&W%20%20Striped%20Mechanics%20Coverall%20...

    Pattern swap starts here!!

Coveralls? I don't know if this is vintage or off-topic, but... Does anyone have a pattern for coveralls? I am talking about the full body suits kind like mechanics wear. They would actually be for me, so I wouldn't need a big men's pattern.
