    Show us your Guns!

The good news: I wound up with another Browning BLR. Well used and scruffy, but in a interesting caliber, 358 Winchester. The bad news: It's missing the magazine, and it's a pre-81. I may end up paying more for the magazine than I did for the rifle.

    Show us your Guns!

Oh, I know about not using Tokarev ammo. I had the misfortune to see the end result of someone using Czech 7.62x25 in one. "Use enough dynamite there, Butch?"....

    Show us your Guns!

Now that I'm no longer a Luddite computer wise, I can post pictures again. I just picked up this one. A Mauser C96 Bolo. The pictures don't do it justice. Unmolested. No one tried to "improve" it or make it look pretty. Now to find some 7.63 Mauser ammo. I want to shoot it at least once...

    Show us your Guns!

I used to have a No 1 MK III dispersal that was a floor lamp. Two holes drilled in the forearm and stuck to the lamp post. Still had grease in the bore. No attempt made to dewat the thing at all. It didn't stay a lamp for long...

Nagant revolver. Tula, 1928 mfg. The pictures don't do the original finish justice. When I got it, the muzzle was plugged with lead, and the firing pin removed. Some kind soul started to drill out the plug, and managed to do it without screwing up the rifling. Elbow grease, a stainless...

Well, let's see if this works... If the image shows up, you'll be seeing a Dutch contract Browning 1922.

    Too Fat to Fly?

I can't answer to the drag, but if you look around, there's a photo of him in leather shorts wearing a silk shirt that would do Liberace proud. The story goes, that he wore said get up hunting.

Thank you. It's a neat thing. I see a lot of older Smiths, but nothing like this. But yeah, he thought it was a regular Model 34. I'm shocked at what people want for just the box.

At this rate, I'm going to be putting cardboard in my shoes... Oh look, a box. Feller says it's a Model 34: Looks like there's some paper inside: Looks like a Model 34, or is it? The frame seems a little odd... It's a pre-model 43. A Kit Gun with an aluminum frame and...

    Hitler and the Exploding Candybars...

I think it was meant less as a booby trap and more as a means to smuggle explosives. The OSS did something similar with pancake batter, of all things. You could cook it and eat it, or attach a blasting cap to it and blow stuff up...

Myths of the Golden Era -- Exploded!

Speaking of AMC: I had a '72 Matador. Not a bad car, considering. The four wheel drum brakes left a bit to be desired, though. The AMX, in the right hands, could be pretty interesting, and I've seen stuff done to a Gremlin that just wasn't right, but oh so fun...

Kilroy, What a neat little Martini. I'd love to find one that was converted. A couple years ago, I could have gotten a unmodified one for $300, but I passed.

    P-40 found in desert

It's sad to think the aircraft will make it home before the pilot. Yeah, I know there are thousands like him lying out there, unshriven so to speak, but it's still rather sad. I just hope that when the old bird's cleaned up and sitting in a museum, folks spare a thought for the fellow who didn't...

What the Hell was I thinking? Allow me to introduce you to my latest find: A Savage 99 takedown in .22 Savage High Power (5.6x52R). Note the quality Bushnell Banner scope and the multiplicity of screw holes. Looks as if there was a tip off mount at one time or some sort of Griffin &...

    Show Us Your Purchases!

I got these at the flea market today: I think they look like propellers. According to what little I could find out Jeray was in business from 1946 to about 1950. When were they made? Any guesses?
