    J. Peterman Keepers jacket size 40 - SOLD -

No way to edit? Well, i would do what MK asks and put SOLD at the end of the title, however, I can not find an EDIT button anywhere and there is nothing in the FAQ about it. So be ye warned that the jacket is on its way to a new owner and is therefore SOLD!

    J. Peterman Keepers jacket size 40 - SOLD -

Well, I'm only 5'6" tall so I'm not a big guy, but I was up over 180#. Down around 150# now, so it was quite a change. Also, the jacket is a regular and I really should be wearing a short. The discussion in the lounge about the jacket at the time was really appealing so I sprang for one, but...

    J. Peterman Keepers jacket size 40 - SOLD -

Size 40 Keepers jacket bought just as I started losing weight and it is now much too big. In near mint condition; only worn a couple of times before my wife convinced me that it really is too big. For pictures and discussion see the thread here...

    What's your 'couple' song

That song would have to be "You Light Up My Life." And that was in 1977, while we were still in college, and we still smile when we hear it today.

    Filson wool jackets

Not a cruiser but.... I have and love the Cape Coat in the grey diagonal weave. A little bit lighter and dressier and doesn't have the pocket in back. Perfect for here in Virginia. Great stuff that Filson.

USA Members: I Need Your Help.

Lynchburg, VA Store #2026 Issues were in both the power column and in the Men's Interest section, though these were high up and drifting into the transportation section. Emboldened by other comments posted here, I think I'll go back and move them to a more prominent location.

    Gray Adventurebilt, SOLD

Price is probably right. I suspect we all come bouncing in here expectantly holding our collective breath to see what size it is and then, sigh and reluctantly go away. Now if it were 7 3/4......... Good luck, Paul

How the classy hunter goes afield...

Great outfit. Moving evermore in the natural direction myself, whether hiking, bicycling or just traveling. Wool, leather, canvas, Can't beat it and it's quiet too. I am curious about the first picture though JeffYOB. Just what are those horses doing flying around in that tree behind you?

Any interest in British tweed jackets?

Agreed... Definite interest in tweeds and such, however I'm a 38 short. Give it a try.

    Geatest designs of WWII

Speaking of brutes... I'm rather fond of the Hawker Hurricane myself. I consider it to be a beautiful and very functional design, in a slightly menacing sort of way. Of course, for elegant lines and design, look no further than a Fletcher class destroyer or an Elco PT Boat. Thinking further...

    Wearing Propaganda

Agreed, and I always enjoy LaMedicine's posts on the art and artistry of Japan.

Instruments - what do you play?

I took piano lessons throughout elementary and high school and that formed a wonderful basis for learning other things. In HS and college I played a variety of saxophones, liking the bari the best. But my true love is the bassoon, which I started freshman year of high school and continue to...

Do you use a vintage camera?

I have a Leica IIIf with 50/F3.5 lens. However, the shutter is sticky and I haven't gotten around to getting it repaired. I also have a Nikon F with Ftn prism, a Zeiss Ikoflex TLR and my dad's old Argus C3. My regular cameras are Nikon's, a mixed bag of FM, FE and FE2 which are getting pretty...

Show Us Your Pedigree! The Heritage Thread.

Webb, Jefferson, Edwards and Trickett. Almost completely English I guess, though I'm not sure about the Trickett. That may be French? Don't know. What little searching I've done hasn't shown much about the name Trickett. The Webbs and Jeffersons came from Virginia, the Edwards and...

    Famous ancestors?

Jefferson Apparently Thomas Jefferson and I have a common ancestor. That would be through my paternal grandmother, Myrtle Jefferson. Never independently verified it, however, that's the family story.

Help!!! I hate the "kiss hello"

This is new to me! I'm completely unaware of the kiss thing. I thought the hugging was bad enough! Like Doc D I tend to be interpreted as standoffish (one of those Cancer traits of mine?) and I might have to try his half-bow approach if the kissing spreads into my area. I like the...

    The Adventurer's Gear Thread

Maybe not.... I found this while looking at info from their centenary parade: Following the Centenary Conference of the Frontiersmen on Saturday 23rd April 2005, a Centennial Service was held at the Church of St. Botolph Without Bishopsgate, London on the following day at 2 p.m. by kind...

New U.S. Air Force uniform protoypes

Senior three I always liked that the Navy allowed you to wear just your senior three ribbons. Less junk on the uniform; leave it to their imagination what else you are entitled to. The recent Navy is as guilty as all the rest with the glut of ribbons and breast insignia. It really has...

    Another Fountain pens post

Type of ink? John in Covina or someone else more knowledgeable could probably better comment, but sometimes the brand of ink can make a difference due to varying viscosity. If you are using the converter, try different brands of ink and see if that helps. I only have one Waterman Phileas that...
