Yes, I have two Akubras—this and the Fed IV—and they fit my 7 3/8ths head perfectly.
Unfortunately, this one just sold, so it is no longer available.

I can’t tell you how horrified I was to realize she’d done that...not to mention what it was like to peel the strip off of the leather band. Cue shrieking violin music from Halloween. Last time I stepped foot in that shop.
SOLD.
I haven’t been on the Fedora Lounge for a bit; nice to see the changes to the site!
I’m doing some cleaning out of shelves, and I have half a couple of fedoras that I haven’t worn for years, so I’m adding to the classifieds page for anyone interested.

Thanks for posting this link, Tomasso. I agree with the others, those colors are a bit unnatural for my head. But there may be hope--the Panamas they show in pics are natural straw and look well-shaped, even if I'm not crazy about the ribbon treatment. Still, the good news is that I'm in Paris...

You're right, granite isn't the color for navy. Go steel for a darker color appropriate for fall/winter, or blue smoke lightweight for spring summer. I have both and that's how I tend to wear them. The steel is a tad darker than granite but it does have some blue tones. Otherwise, I'd have a...
Thanks, Randooch and Blackthorn--great suggestions at either end of my trip!
Chasseur, fantastic links and recommendations. I'll definitely check out those vintage shops and flea markets and hope that some 59 cm selections are waiting for me. This trip is a first, and your recommendations for...
One word: trenchcoat (or is that supposed to be two words?). With a good trenchcoat and a fedora, there's no need for an umbrella. Shoes will get wet no matter what you're wearing/carrying on top.
Gotta agree...I've been lusting after this one:

Edit: looks like the link only directs you to Art's custom page. See the "South Beach" fedora, #5 from the top.
Edit 2: Here's what I was referring to (must be rusty this morning!):
Very smart choice. Love my Akubras, but Art's fedoras are in a whole different class.
My artlite is blue smoke with a darker grey ribbon and brim...and it's fully lined. Love it and find it just fine during much of California's coastal summer. When it's not, it means that it's time to...
Isaac, you'll love the workmanship on your Art Fawcett creation. I've gone fairly conservative with my choices, too, and he does a great job with those, just as he is an artist of creative and more colorful ribbons for others. Take a close look at the steel felt--I wanted dark but wasn't willing...
I'd echo that. My Fed IV needed a good bit of padding when I first bought it a couple of years ago; now it is snug and could possibly use a slight stretch. I bought a 59 cm, even though I'm probably more like a 58. It has been a great go-to hat, summer or winter.
Hi all,
After a looong time away, I'm back to the Lounge. I don't even want to click the Art Fawcett thread to see what I've missed...
But let's start with a question: my wife is finally getting me to France this summer, something we've planned but haven't done for a few years. Rather than...
