Hello again, everyone! It's been ages, since I've been busy trying to graduate. Everyone's been making such cute stuff! One reason I've been so busy is because I've been doing some millinery for school credit: And I had just enough time to make one for myself. I didn't just decorate this...

Oh that blouse is adorable, SayCici...now I regret selling my pattern similar to it. And that skirt. OH MY GOD. All I can say is I'm in love with it!

I love the bow on the skirt. I have that repro pattern and I'm glad to hear you like it, so maybe now I'll actually make it. Amy Jeanne, where do you wear all these crazy print dresses? I love them.

I feel bad buying FF, because I know there are collectors out there who glory over them, and because I know I won't be keeping it in FF!

Yay! One of my most favorite color combinations. I'm saving that to my computer for later inspiration, LD.

Thinking about a tattoo, but is it what good girls did in the 1940's?

My best friend has this one (only bigger and nicely shaded), as originally modeled by Kiki de Montparnasse, Man Ray's girlfriend/muse in the early 1900s.

Picked this up off Ebay for a whopping 99 cents! I noticed that too, Lady Day...weird how everything is cyclical.

Just got this one in the mail yesterday. I really want to make a summer suit out of it, with bias tape-bound seams.

Woo! We've got another one hooked, girls! The pajamas, I think, are a good choice although my sister might not agree. She made a pair for her first pattern and hated them! These arrived yesterday: Then my mom pulled out her prom photo and we compared her Gunne Sax to that one! Good times.

    Ladies Coats: 40s vs 50s vs 60s

I honestly would take it to a store that specializes in furs. I don't know if they're a chain, but we have a place called WM. H. Harris. I would assume they somewhat followed fashion trends, but as far as I can tell, ready-made furs made today are either cut almost the same as in the 50s and...

Thanks! The best part is that the tie bit would be super easy to transfer to any other scoopneck pattern.

Those jumpers are the cutest! Now I want to make them. These were my winter break projects, even though I started them way back in October. They're a little later than Golden Era, but oh well [huh] I'll make up for it with a 40s suspender skirt next. I took a waste-not, want-not attitude with...

    Sewing Lessons & FAQ

Did you try sewing.patternreview.com, LD? There are quite a few on there. That's funny that the Reader's Digest Sewing book should come up, I just had to order it for a class.

That is SO SO cute, and your bow is picture-perfect! I adore nautical. I'm going to do this pattern in cheesy nautical fabrics this summer.

    High Waisted Pants & Jeans!

I am wearing a good bra (I certainly paid enough for ones that fit well). I think it is more a matter of disproportion, since the rest of me is more petite sized and has always looked odd with my bust. The high waist just enhances the disproportion. This is why I like skirts that go up to...

I like the more feminine ones, because, well, theyre just more flattering. There's a reason most men look sexy in one and most women don't!

DId you buy it? It is really pretty! And I don't think you're crazy at all, I spend hours looking at patterns. Good job on the research, by the way.

:eusa_clap Yay! You can totally do it. Make sure you check the Joann's flyers to find out when they are having a pattern sale. 99 cents, or even 3.99 is much easier to put down than $14.99 on a pattern. And figure out what pattern you want ahead of time using the pattern company websites...
