I mean no offence by this, by the picture reminds me of the main character in Rod Sterling's Night Gallery episode entitled "Escape Route." Chilling resemblance.
Has anyone ever bought a hat or cap from Sterkowski, in Poland? I've recently see some eastern European style caps on Amazon from them that look mighty fine. I'm primarily interested in how close their sizing is (is a size 57 Euro actually that size? Larger? Smaller?)
I have seen what's called "the Irish Walking Hat," on J. Peterman's recent catalog that bears a strong resemblance to Dr. Henry Jones, Sr.'s. You might want to take a look, as it seems to be reasonably priced and looks spot on.
My mustache was 40 years old this last spring ("old enough to go out on its own!"), and I use Fisticuffs mustache wax, when I use mustache wax. Good holding and a very faint, pleasant scent.
This is the 4x quality wool felt ("Buffalo'), and I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the product. Not by Stetson, who always makes a fine hat, but by the fact that it is wool felt. I tend to not like soft brimmed hats and prefer the stiff(er) brims, and this one seems durable to hold...
The faithful Cossack retainer (right), attending to "visiting royalty" at High Tea, last December. Never underestimate the value of a well-placed bribe to a conscientious waiter, I always say.
I've always thought of mine as a nicely fitted, very flexible coat. I've got four or five of 'em in different shades, from black, to navy, to olive, to sand, to "heather" (whatever that is!), and I cannot wait until fall/winter to break 'em out.
I believe this gentleman (top two pics) was assigned to my section of cavalry during the filming of 1st Manassas in "North & South II. He rode an off-white horse with a Plantation saddle, and played a mean fiddle around the campfire at night. Good guy.
