Red won't touch my lips, never has never will ...
for me red is a no-no ... don't like red ,not for moi my darlings, not for moi.
Yup, same here. Besame's Red Velvet is my everyday lippy; the colour is perfect as is the packaging, but it does require a routine of "apply - dab w/Kleenex - reapply - apply Lipcote" if I want it to last a reasonable amount of time. I had the same problem with L'oreal's Penelope Red, the colour of which I loved but became not comfortable with the ethics of that particular company so I ceased buying it.
Staying power-wise, I have much better luck with MAC's Russian Red or Illamasqua's Maneater, even though neither colour is perfect on me.
Zombi hit the nail on the head, I think; Red Velvet is more of a brown red. Duh, I thought they either had to be orange-y or blue-y...
More than somewhat.
I always have fun experimenting, but I keep going back to Outlast. I hate everything else covergirl makes like crazy, but outlast really works. If you wait long enough for it to dry it's very comfortable I find even without the balm. And the "eternal flame" shade is perfect.
My everyday red is Besame Red velvet but sometimes i'll change it up with urban decays gash, which deep a beautiful deep red blood color.
Here's a review of my other favourite red lipstick, just like I said... Revlon's "love that red":

Thanks for that review, Highball Emy! Today they were having a promotion on Revlon lipsticks at my local drugstore, so I have now added Love That Red and Love That Pink to my arsenal. Adore them both!! This is my first pink lipstick in years, so I'm rather excited![]()
Rodeo Rose, you're welcome! Happy that it's helpfulGlad to hear that someone else likes Love that Pink! Isis told me she likes it too... I have it but I haven't tried it on yet because pink always makes me look ill in this kind of grey spring light!
