A lot of folks keep telling me that our pets will be waiting for us in the next life. I hope they're right. I miss the ones I've lost. I just came in from visiting Earl. I miss him terribly.

My heart goes out to all who have had to go through this. I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy.

    Since 1977, I've lost 3 dogs.
One to old age (19), one to parvo (12wks old), and one to diabetes (13yrs old). The last one was the hardest because I (and the wife) gave her insulin 2x a day, and spent a lot of money caring for her the last 2yrs of her life.
For those of us who have no children, our pets take that place.
While I can't prove it, I feel we'll see those pets again, when we pass on.

    Ellie Mae

Buddy (he's a little out of focus, and deaf as a stone these days)

The cat's name is also Buddy. Anyone with small children will understand.

    Thank you very much.

Also, your Buddy looks like our Jinxy.

Black cats love to be around people and often they'll latch on to a particular person. I know this is true because El Principe hangs around me all the time nowadays -- more than anyone else in the house.

Strangely, just about all of my dogs have gone deaf eventually. I guess if they live to our equivalent of 112 or more then we can expect it.
People think they are so rebellious and original, when really they are just banal, boring and dumb.

This is what was happening with my ham on rye today at lunch. He has become much more like a dog when it comes to people food.
