I looked at that thread reference, lots of good photos of the hat. Are you sure it's a three-inch brim? It doesn't look that wide.
Coincidentally, maybe you already noticed, that hat (and face) look like the photo posted by Fletch today at 5:09 on the "Musicians' Hats" thread, of the 30s guy.My new Federation IV with trimmed 2 ¼” brim. Going to wait to do the final shaping until it rains since it’s supposed to be a beater hat anyway.
