One of the hat's I threw together today, and I welcome your opinions.

..I would like to start off by thanking the Fedora Lounge and all of the Members within for the respect clearly given to the art of the hat and the Hatters.

Here's a Fur Felt Custom Hand Made fedora I made today for a customer & good friend of mine. Thanks.

    indycop,

Lexol leather cleaner will probably work for you. Be careful with it and test on a small area first. Although I generally do not have any problems with it, I did have it ruin one sweatband on a British hat.
Tried it, looks brand new now!

There are two kinds of hat wearers: those who say it never gets too hot for felt, and those who say it SOMETIMES does.

I guess I'm the exception. I have pretty much packed-up the felt hats for the summer (I know it's spring). I have already had days when my head is getting too hot in a felt hat. I am concerned about staining it. Unfortunately, I don't have a Panama to wear - yet. PB has been helping me through that process.

Well, Shane, you can't take it with you when you leave...might as well enjoy it while you're here.

Welcome to the Lounge, Gunner. I'm sure the rest of the "lid literati" around here welcome you as well.

And I'll also add this thread is one I hit daily to see all the great new hats Loungers have acquired.

    Green Stetson Playboy

Very nice and with a whopping $10.00 price tag. Vented too.

Douglas, I have one the exact same colour, but unvented and thicker felt. I love Playboys. That one seems to have rather odd dimensions for a Playboy (rather wide of brim and substantial of crown). How does it compare to your other Playboys?

This one seems to be a bit older. It has the same details as my others plus the venting. It is a bit softer but that could be from use and age. The brim is 2-5/8" which is wider than the others. The crown as bashed is only 3-1/2" and seems to be set for many years so I won't change it. What impresses me about the Playboy and in general most of the Royal line is how increadably comfortable they are. No matter what style they all sit on the head well and form a nice seal without binding. The brims tend to be softer so wind has no affect.
I have many hats that fit well and look good but other than the two "The Royal Stetson" the Royal line of hats is my favorite and most user friendly.

    One more gratuitous photo.

    Thumbs up

^Great hat and look, as always, Douglas. I've been wearing my Artlight brim up quite a bit lately as your Playboy is in your second 'live' shot. I really like how it looks.
