Speaking of the Aviator and Flight Jackets...

I was delving in the bottomless pit that is my wardrobe, with the Aviator and vintage flight jackets in mind and found this...

It's a repro of the 1930s cotton USN Flight/Deck jacket, made by Willis and Geiger- and surprisingly, it has a good, neat, vintage fit. The originals were made of the so-called cotton 'jungle cloth', a kind of heavy whipcord, like the later USN N-1 Deck jackets- this one is a little lighter. I kind of like it.
W&G don't exist anymore do they?

    Nope

They were a subsidiary of Land's End, believe it or not (at least at the end). Either just before, or as part of the Sears buyout of LE, W&G was killed off. Too bad, neat stuff, as your jacket illustrates.

Very nice jacket BT... I can't say I've ever seen one of those before.
